Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend!

Skating - We will be skating with our buddies in 4T on Monday March 19th. Students will need their skates and helmet. Parents and grandparents please join us at the rink if you can. This will be our last skating day of the year.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Please bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on words that begin with/th/ and words with the /oo/ vowel sound. The word work avtivity is using words with /oo/ vowel sound. In Math we are using the calendar to problem solve and counting by 10s, quick facts and starting to work on equal and unequal. We are working on reading comprehension and using all parts of the story. The pictures can give us clues to what is happening in the story. Use the picture cues to tell what is happening. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Credit Union - School Credit Union Day is on Wednesday March 21st.

Welcome Back!! I hope you had a fun and relaxing March Break!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys.Ed Days This week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out a new one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. This a review week for our spelling words, so they are ones we have already had. In Math we continue to work on using the calendar. Keep working on knowing the days of the week and months of the year. As well we are doing more work with adding and subtraction and this week we are working on fact families. There is a story to work on to find the missing words for each sentence. Remember when we read it has to sound right and make sense. With the writing activity, you have to finish the story. What will happen next? Remember to add details and voice to your writing. Please make sure that you read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on the Friday before the Break. Calleigh, Isabella and Brooke did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. Our friends will be on their Break this week, so we will reconnect with them next week. We will start our letters to them this week.

St. Patrick's Day - Don't forget to wear your green on Friday!

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - Just a reminder to please have your pledge money in this week if you have not brought it in yet.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. We are still working on our words for the Spell-A-Thon, so make sure you go over them each night. The word work activity is with the spelling words as well. In Math we have started working on using the calendar, knowing the days of the week and focusing on the strategy doubles plus one. This week we have another story to read and answer questions about. We are working on reading for details and information. Please make sure that you read each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spell-A-Thon - All pledge sheets are due back on Tuesday February 13th. Please do your best to collect pledges and work on your spelling words. The Spell-A-Thon will be held on Thursday February 15th. Students will be doing a written test. Good Luck!

Valentine's Day - We will be having a Valentine's Day celebration on Wednesday February 14th. Students may bring valentines to exchange with their classmates if they would like to.

Flag Day - We celebrate our flag's birthday on Thursday February 15th. Students and staff are asked to wear red and white.

Olympics - Red and White/Canada Clothing Days- Students and staff are asked to wear Canada's colours or clothing on the Fridays during the Olympics in support of our Canadian athletes. This would be Friday February 16th and 23rd. GO CANADA GO!!

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Friday this week because of the storm day. Kian, Emma and Ava did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. Our friends have not had any snow in Dallas yet this year! We were very excited to get their letters and pictures on Friday. We will be getting ready to write back to them soon!

Skating - Our next skating day is on Monday February 26th. Ice time is 10:20 - 11:05AM. Please join us at the rink if you can.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words are the words we are using for the Spell-A-Thon. The word work activity is with the Spell-A-Thon words. In Math we are working on adding and subtracting using our strategies and word problems. We are working on reading for information. Students have a short story to read and then answer the questions in a complete sentence that begins and ends the right way. It is very important that you continue to read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Thursday. Travis, Ethan and Sydney did a great job as the weather and class reporters and poetry reader. We are still waiting for our letters from them to arrive. We hope they come this week.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - We had our Spell-A-Thon kick off on Thursday. Each student should have received the fundraising information, word list and pledge sheet. Students are asked to collect pledges and learn their words. We will also be working on them in class.

Red and White Day - The olympics begin on Friday February 9th. We ask students and staff to wear Canada's colours or clothing in support of our Canadian athletes. We are combining this with our Spell-A-Thon as well, and ask students and staff to wear Canads's colours or clothing on the Friday's during the Olympics.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week are our words for the Spell-A-Thon, which will be starting on February 1st. The word work activity is a review of the vowel sounds we have been working on. In Math we are working on mental math strategies; 1 more, 1 less, doubles and making 10. The writing activity focuses on using voice in our writing. Write about a time you went sliding. Make sure you add voice, details and begin and end sentences the right way. Please make sure that you read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Skating - We have skating on Monday January 29th. Our ice time is 10:20 - 11:05AM. Students will need their skates and helmet. Parents and grandparents please join us at the rink.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Thursday. Reno, Luther and Quintin did a super job as the weather and class reporters and poetry reader. Our friends mailed out their letters to us, so we are excited to get them in the mail.

Spell-A-Thon Kick Off Assembly/Pep Rally - Our annual Spell-A-Thon fundraiser will kick off on Thursday February 1st. Students and staff are asked to wear school colours on this day.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back! I hope you had a fun weekend! Please make sure that you are dressed for the weather each day. It would be a good idea to keep an extra pair of mittens and socks in your book bag, just in case they get wet.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can get another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folder. Our spelling words this week focus on more than one, adding /s/ to the end of a word. The word work activity is on this as well. In Math we are working on mental math strategies to help with adding and subtracting. This weeks homework is on adding and subtracting 0 and doubles. We continue to work on voice in our writing. The activity this week is to write as if you were a snowman. Make sure you add voice, details and begin and end your sentences the right way. Please make sure that you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet. Keep working on your math facts and strategies at home.

Credit Union Day - School Credit Union Day is on Tuesday January 23rd.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend! Please make sure that you are dressed for the weather this week. It would be a good idea to keep an extra pair of socks and mittens in your book bag.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. We have a new set of spelling words focussing on the long /o/ and /oo/ and /ou/ vowel sounds as well as /y/ at the end of words that says/i/. Our word work activity will be on these vowels and words. In math weare starting to work on mental math strategies and place value to 100. We continue to work on the voice trait in writing so our writing activity this week is on this. It is very important that the students read each night and record their book on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We were excited to reconnect with our friends after the break. Keegan, Brooke and Ethan did a super job as the weather and class reporters and the poetry reader. Our friends got our parcel before Christmas and they are writing letters now to send to us. The students were quite surprised in both classes to find that we were actually warmer than our Texan friends on Friday!

Skating - Our next skating day is coming up on Monday January 29th. Ice time is 10:20 - 11:05AM.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome Back! Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a fun and restful Christmas holiday! We have been having some very cold temperatures, so please make sure that you are dressed for the weather.

Phys. Ed- Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Please make sure you brought your book back, so you can sign out a new one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - Our spelling words this week focus on the long /i/ bossy /e/ vowel sound. In Math you will be working on counting in different ways, place value and counting with money. A review of what we were doing before the break. The word work this week will focus on blends and words with the long and short/i/ vowel sounds. After two weeks off it is important that we get back to our reading, so please make sure you read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend and were able to keep warm!! The temperatures are definitely colder. Please make sure that you are dressed for the weather.

Skating - We have skating on Monday December 18th - Our ice time is 10:20 - 11:05am. Students will need skates and a helmet to be on the ice. Parents and grandparents please join us at the rink.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - This week we have reading each night for homework. It is very important for students to keep up with their reading each day over the holidays. Please make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Christmas Concert - Our concert for the K-2 students is on Wednesday at 9:00am. We hope to see everyone there.

Spirit Week - This week is Spirit Week at our school. Here is a list of events: Tuesday - Christmas Hat Day; Wednesday - Christmas Concert - Dress Up Day; Thursday - Christmas Sweater Day; Friday - PJ Day.

Last Day - Our last day of classes before the Christmas Break is on Friday December 22nd. Please note that this is half a day for students and there will be early dismissal at 11:30am.

Class Project With Texas - We were not able to connect with our friends last week, as we both had events going on and it is a busy time. Friday was their last day of classes, so we will do our weekly meetings in the New Year. We were happy to hear that they got our Christmas cards and ornaments that we made the. We also sent our shared writing about our Christmas Traditions.

I would like to wish all my students and their families a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2018! Check back in the New Year!!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend! With that snow over the weekend, it is time for snowpants, hats, boots and mittens. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Please make sure you bring your book back.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. This is a review week for our spelling, so they are words we have done already. Our word work activity is on blends. The writing is with the organization trait. Tell things in order about how you get ready to go out and play in the snow. Add good details. In Math we are working on counting money with a group of different coins and showing numbers in different ways. Please make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Christmas Dinner - Our school Christmas Dinner is on Wednesday December 13th. If you did not order the dinner, you will need to bring your lunch.

Credit Union - School Credit Union Day is on Wednesday December 13th.

Christmas Shoppe - The annual Christmas Shoppe will be held on Friday December 15th. Students will be able to shop for family members. The cost of the items is between $1 and $3. If you have items, bags or wrapping paper for the sale, you can drop it off at the school.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Thursday. Travis, Ella and Luther did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. We mailed out their Christmas cards and snowflake ornaments we made on Thursday. They were going to plant their tulips on Thursday. Now we are putting together our shared writing on our Christmas Traditions.

We are doing a shared writing about our family Christmas traditions for our friends in Texas. Please share a family tradition with us for the writing activity this week. In math we are counting with money, counting in different ways and representing numbers to 50. Please make sure that you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - Our friends are back from their Thanksgiving holiday so we had our meeting on Thursday. Sydney, Riley B. and Reno did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. We are working on their Christmas cards to send out.

Christmas Dinner - Our School Christmas Dinner is on Wednesday December 13th. If you would like the dinner it has to be pre-ordered and payed by Friday December 8th. The cost is $4.00.

Our spelling words this week focus on the long /a/, bossy /e/ vowel sound and our word work activity is on this vowel sound as well. We are continuing to work on the organization trait in writing. The writing activity is on using a picture and telling events in order. Make sure you add good details and begin and end your sentences the right way. In Math we are starting to count with money, so you can work on this at home too. As well we are counting in different ways and doing place value to 50. Please make sure that you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Scholastic Book Fair - The Home and School will be having a Book Fair in the library beginning on Monday November 27th. The following are the dates and the times: Monday-Wednesday 9:00-3:00PM; Family Night 5:00-7:00PM; Thursday 9:00-12:00. We hope you will be able to stop by.

Food Drive: The anuual school food drive for the Food Bank is continuing until December 15th, please bring an item if you can.

Class Project with Texas - Our friends were away for Thanksgiving Break, so we did not have our weekly meeting. We did finish our letters and posters and mailed them out.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words focus on the /o/ and /e/ vowel sounds that say their own name. The word work activity is on blends and writing sentences using 2 words that you make with blends. In Math we are counting in different ways and working on place value to 50. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on your log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friend on Thursday. Carter, Kian and Calleigh did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. We have started writing our pen pal letters to them and working on our All About Me Posters. Our friends do not have school this week as they are off for their Thanksgiving Break.

Credit Union - School Credit Union Day is on Wednesday November 22nd.

Reports - Report Cards go home on Tuesday.

Parent-Teacher Days - Our Parent Teacher days are on Thursday November 23rd from 4:00 - 6:30PM and Friday November 24th from 9:00-11:30AM.

No School - There is no school for students on Friday November 24th.

Food Drive - Just a reminder that the school has started our annual food drive for the Food Bank and will be collecting until December 15th. Please bring an item if you can.

Book Fair - Our School Book Fair is coming up next week November 27th - November 30th.

I hope you had a great weekend and also took some time to remember our Canadian veterans and soldiers and those who gave their lives for our freedom.

The days are getting colder, so please make sure you dress for the weather and keep a hat and mitts in your bookbag.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words for the week focus on the /ar/ vowel sound. The word work activity is on this as well. We have another organization writing activity to work on. Please make sure you draw a picture and write about each part that tells how you get ready for school in the morning. In math we are doing some more work with place value. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends again on Thursday. Emma, Brooke, Ava and Isabella did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. Our friends shared some really cool animal verb poems that they wrote. We just got their letters and will read them on Tuesday and then start writing a letter back to them.

Food Drive - Just a reminder that the school has started our annual food drive for the Food Bank. Please bring in a food item if you can.

Library - Our Library day is on Tuesday. Please make sure you bring your book back so that you can get another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on the short /i/ and /o/ vowel sounds. The word work is on the /ill/ word family and short /i/ and /o/ vowel sounds. In Math we are working on 3D shapes. We have started the organization trait, telling things in order. The writing activity is on organization. Please make sure that you are reading your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Remembrance Day Service - Our School service will be held on Thursday November 9th at 10:00AM in the gym. Students are asked to bring in a donation for a poppy if they can.

No School - There is no school for students on Friday November 10th as it is a PLD for teachers. There is no school on Monday November 13th.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Thursday. Rileigh W., Quintin and Emma did a super job as the weather and class reporters and poetry reader. They told us that they really like our national anthem, so we are going to sing them for each other during one of our weekly reports. We are sending them our shared writing about Thanksgiving In Canada. They will be celebrating theirs on the last Thursday of this month.

Food Drive - Our school has started our annual food drive for the Food Bank. Students and staff are asked to bring in some food items if they can.
