Notes

Hi Everyone!

  • I hope you had a fun long weekend!
  • Please make sure you are dressed for the weather. The weather is getting colder, and we have snow! You need snowpants, mittens/gloves and a hat.
  • Please check back here each week to find out what is happening with our class.

Phys. Ed

  • Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

  • Our library day is on Wednesday.
  • Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.
  • All books must be returned this week.
  • No books signed out until after the Christmas Break.

Homework/Reading

  • The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
  • Work on your words. Remember to use the sounds you know to help.
  • Once you know all the words, have someone at home sign the sheet.
  • Choose a book from the reading bag to read each night. Remember to sign the log sheet each time you read. Make sure you use your strategies to help with your reading.
  • For our spelling words this week, the focus is on the long /a/ vowel sound with the silent /e/ at the end. Practice spelling out loud and putting the words down on paper. Listen for the sounds you hear. We will have a test on the words on Friday.

Water Bottles

  • Just a reminder to bring a water bottle that you can refill and use during the day. 

Cafeteria

  • A menu went home, and you can access online as well.
  • You can place and pay for orders online, or students can place their orders in class in the morning.
  • If their order was placed on-line, can you please put a note in the agenda to say online order.

Christmas Shop

  • We had our first shopping day today, Monday December 10th.
  • The shop will also be open on Tuesday December 11th.

Christmas Dinner

  • We will be offering a special Christmas Meal on Thursday December 12th.
  • It will be a turkey dinner with potatoes, vegetables, dessert, and milk.
  • There will be no charge for the students.

Food Bank

  • Our school will be collecting for the Food Bank this week and next week.
  • If you can bring in an item, it would be greatly appreciated.

Christmas Concert

  • The K-5 Christmas Concert will be on Wednesday December 18th at 9:00AM.
  • The storm date is Wednesday December 19th.Skating
  • Due to the storm day last Thursday, our skating day for December 19th, has been pushed back.
  • Our skating day will now be in January, date to follow.

Christmas Spirit Week

  • This will take place from December 16th – 20th.
  • Monday December 16th – Christmas Hat or Crazy Hair Day
  • Tuesday December 17th – Christmas Colours Day
  • Wednesday December 18th – Christmas Concert Day
  • Thursday December 19th – Dress Like An Elf Day
  • Friday December 20th – PJ Day

Report Cards

  • First Term report cards will go home on Tuesday November 26th.
  • Please read the report, sign the parent/student response form and return it to the school in the envelope it was sent home in.
  • You can keep the report card.

 

Parent Teacher Interviews

  • Parent teacher Interviews will be on Thursday November 29th from 4-6PM and on Friday November 29th from 8:30-11:30AM.
  • A form will be going home regarding this in the report cards. Please fill out and return on Wednesday November 27th.

Christmas Dinner

  • We will be offering a special Christmas Meal on Thursday December 12th.

  • We will be walking to and from the Farm.
  • A green permission slip went home in the folders.
  • Please sign and return it by Wednesday September 25th.

Field Trip

  • We will be going to Maurie’s Minin Putt on Thursday June 6th with Ms. Moar’s class.
  • A Memo was sent home with a permission slip to sign.
  • The cost for students is $3.00, and the Student Council will pay the remaining cost.
  • Please bring a water bottle, hat, and apply sunscreen before you leave for school.
  • Students are asked to bring their lunch as well, as it will be after our cafeteria time when we return.

 

Cafeteria

  • If your child is ordering, please write a note and put it in a bag or container.
  • Lunch orders need to be into the cafeteria by 9:00AM.
