Phys. Ed

  • Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

  • Our library day is on Friday.
  • Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Reading

  • Work on your words. Remember to use the sounds you know to help.
  • Once you know all the words, have someone at home sign the sheet.
  • Choose a book from the reading bag to read each night. Remember to sign the log sheet each time you read. Make sure you use your strategies to help with your reading.
  • This week we have our spelling words. The focus is on the /ow/ vowel sound. We are sending them home to work on and we will be doing activities with them at school as well.

Cafeteria

  • If your child is ordering, please write a note and put it in a bag or container.
  • Lunch orders need to be into the cafeteria by 9:00AM.

Solar Eclipse

  • On Monday April 8th there will be a Total Solar Eclipse.
  • This is a half day for students with dismissal at 11:30AM.

  • Students are asked to collect pledges from people at home or relatives and friends.
  • The students have a list of math facts to study for their test.
  • All pledge sheets are due back on Thursday February 15th.
  • The school wide activity day for the fundraiser will be on February 20th.
  • All money raised is used to support student activities.
  • We appreciate your support with this fundraiser.

Family Day

  • Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday February 19th for the Family Day holiday.
  • Have a wonderful long weekend with your family!!

 

Valentine’s Day

  • We will be exchanging valentines on Wednesday February 14th.
  • A list of students went home last week.
  • Students can bring their valentines on Wednesday if they would like to pass them out to their classmates.

 

Flag Day

  • Canada Flag Day is on Thursday February 15th.
  • Students and staff are asked to wear red & white or Canada clothing on Thursday.

 

100th Day of School

  • Our 100th Day of School will be on Tuesday February 20th. (As long as there are no weather days).
  • A Memo is going home with the students on Monday, outlining some of the activities they can do, or that we are working on.
  • We will be trying with the K-2 classes to collect 100 items for the Food Bank, so if you can send in an item that would be great.

Christmas Concert

  • Christmas Concert for K-5 classes is on Wednesday December 20th at 9:00AM.

 Last Day of Classes

  • Our last day of classes before the Christmas Break is on Friday December 22nd.
  • Please note that this is a half day for students.
  • Dismissal is at 11:30AM.

 Spirit Week

  • We will have our second School Spirit Week, this week December 18th - 22nd.

Report Cards

  • Our first term report cards go home on Monday December 4th.
  • After you read the report, please sign the response form, and return it in the report card envelope.

Parent/Teacher

  • If you would like a parent/teacher interview, please sign the form in the report card envelope, checking the best time for you and return it to the school.
  • We will set up interview times for you once we have the forms.
  • Parent/ Teacher interviews are on Thursday December 7th from 4:00 – 6:00PM and on Friday December 8th from 8:30 – 11:30AM.

No School

  • There is no school for students on Friday December 8th.
  • Parent Teacher Interviews are from 8:30 – 11:30AM.

Christmas Dinner

  • There is no cost for the Christmas Dinner this year, as it is being covered by the Home & School.
  • If your child would like to have the dinner, please pre-order by Thursday December 7th, so they will know how many meals to prepare for. The dinner is on Wednesday December 13th.
