• Spelling words for the week focuses on the long /ee/ that makes the vowel say its own name.
• We will be working on them at school and sending them home to work on for homework.
• We will do a test on the words on Friday.
• Please continue with our sight word sheets. Remember to have the Homework Helper sign the list when you know all the words.
• The word work activity focuses on words that have the long /ee/ vowel sound. Look at the picture. Say the word. Can you spell the word? Listen for the /ee/ vowel sound. Make 3 new words that have the /ee/ vowel sound. Circle the word missing from each sentence. What word will make the sentence sound right and make sense? They are this week’s spelling words.
• In Math we are working on counting by 5s to 100 and showing or representing numbers in different ways.
• Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Food Bank Challenge

• Just a reminder that our school is taking part in a challenge for the Miramichi Food Bank.

Spirit Week

• Our second Spirit Week of the year is this week.
• The Raider Hat is up for grabs for the class with the most participation each day.
• Monday – Red & Green Day
• Tuesday  - Christmas Shirt/Sweater Day
• Wednesday – Christmas Concert Day – 9:00Am
• Thursday – Christmas Hat/Socks Day
• Friday – School Clothing or PJ Day

Christmas Concert

• The School Christmas Concert will be on Wednesday December 21^st at 9:00AM.

Skating

• Our first skating day will be on Thursday December 22^nd.
• Students will need skates and a helmet.
• If your child does not have skates or a helmet, we do have some extras at the school that they can use. Please let me know this week, so we can get them a pair to fit.
• Parents/Guardians are welcome to come, please note that you must have skates on to go on the ice.

Last Day Of Classes

• Our last day of classes before the Christmas Break is Friday December 23^rd.
• Please note that it is for half a day.
• Dismissal will be at 11:30AM.

• The word work activity focuses on /ch/ and /sh/ blends. Look at the picture. Say the word. What sound do you hear at the beginning? Pick 2 words and write a sentence for each one. Make sure your sentence begins and ends properly and has good details.
• In Math we are working on counting by 5s, 10s starting at different numbers; 2s starting at 1. We are also working on describing numbers and telling if they are even or odd numbers. Even numbers end in (0,2,4,6,8) and odd numbers end in (1,3,5,7,9).
• Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Christmas Meal

-          The Christmas meal will be on Tuesday December 6^th.

-          This meal was to be pre-ordered.

-          If your child did not order the meal, they will have to bring their lunch on that day.

Parent Teacher Interviews

-          Thursday, December 8^th – 4:00 – 6:00PM

-          Friday, December 9^th – 8:30 – 11:30AM

-          Please fill out the interview form that was sent home in the report card envelopes.

-          You can choose to come in person or do a phone interview.

-          Once you send in the form, an appointment time will be set up for you.

No School

-          There is no school for students on Friday December 9th.

-          It is Parent Teacher and a Professional Learning day for teachers.

Remembrance Day Service

• Our school will be having a Remembrance Day Service at 10:00 am on Thursday November 10^th. Parents are invited to attend, but are asked to limit it to one parent per student.

No School  - Remembrance Day

• There is no school on Remembrance Day, Friday November 11^th .
• Please take time during the day to remember the brave Canadian Heroes who fought for our country and sacrificed for our freedom.

Home & School Fundraiser

• The Home & School is selling cookie Dough for a Fundraiser.
• Information sheets on items and ordering went home with the students on Friday November 4^th.
