Grade 2 News November 13 - November 17

Posted: November 13, 2017

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend and also took some time to remember our Canadian veterans and soldiers and those who gave their lives for our freedom.

The days are getting colder, so please make sure you dress for the weather and keep a hat and mitts in your bookbag.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. So please make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out a new one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words for the week focus on the /ar/ vowel sound. The word work activity is on this as well. We have another organization writing activity to work on. Please make sure you draw a picture and write about each part that tells how you get ready for school in the morning. In math we are doing some more work with place value. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends again on Thursday. Emma, Brooke, Ava and Isabella did a super job as the class and weather reporters and poetry reader. Our friends shared some really cool animal verb poems that they wrote. We just got their letters and will read them on Tuesday and then start writing a letter back to them.

Food Drive - Just a reminder that the school has started our annual food drive for the Food Bank. Please bring in a food item if you can.

Skating - Our first skating day of the year is on Monday November 20th. Students must have skates and helmets to go on the ice. If you need skates or a helmet we do have some extra at the school, so please let me know.

Have a fabulous week!
