Grade 2 News February 5 - February 9

Posted: February 4, 2018

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend! Remember to dress for the weather.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words are the words we are using for the Spell-A-Thon. The word work activity is with the Spell-A-Thon words. In Math we are working on adding and subtracting using our strategies and word problems. We are working on reading for information. Students have a short story to read and then answer the questions in a complete sentence that begins and ends the right way. It is very important that you continue to read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Class Project With Texas - We met with our friends on Thursday. Travis, Ethan and Sydney did a great job as the weather and class reporters and poetry reader. We are still waiting for our letters from them to arrive. We hope they come this week.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - We had our Spell-A-Thon kick off on Thursday. Each student should have received the fundraising information, word list and pledge sheet. Students are asked to collect pledges and learn their words. We will also be working on them in class.

Red and White Day - The olympics begin on Friday February 9th. We ask students and staff to wear Canada's colours or clothing in support of our Canadian athletes. We are combining this with our Spell-A-Thon as well, and ask students and staff to wear Canads's colours or clothing on the Friday's during the Olympics.

Have a fabulous week!
