The following documents are lists of words that go along with our guided reading program. We want children to be able to locate these words on a page in a book, read them quickly to help build reading fluency, and to use these words to problem solve reading words they don't know. For example, when we can read it, this helps us to read and write words like hit, fit, bit. I will also add a link to Jack Hartman who created videos along with Jan Richardson to help children learn these words. When your child knows many letters and sounds they may be ready to work on these words. You can give it a try. :) Begin with list 1. When that is mastered, move on.
