The school year has started and our classroom is buzzing with excitement. We have been having so much fun getting to know one another and learning to work and play cooperatively. We have been learning more about our school and class rules and how to be safe on the playground. The children love story time and especially enjoy "Pete the Cat" books. We are off to a great start in Kindergarten. Check back soon for more updates :)

On Wednesday, June 13, K-1 is going to travel to the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton for our year-end class trip. We will be going with Mrs, Sullivan-Goguen's Kindergarten class. This should be such a fun day. We are looking forward to seeing how many of our "Zoo-Phonics" animal friends are at the zoo. I will post pictures upon our return. Please check back. :)

Our challenge today was to build a container/bowl/box using the materials provided that would hold 6 small styrofoam balls. It was quite a challenge. We had to perservere and keep trying as many of our original plans didn't work out. We were successful in the end and has so much fun! These are...

Well we came to school to discover Mrs. Poole's key didn't work in the door and our shoes were mixed up. When we finally got inside we saw markers, crayons, glue and scissors all over the classroom floor! Chairs we knocked over too. Our traps were stepped on and there were green sparkles all...

We worked very hard to make awesome traps to catch a leprechaun. We cut, glued, painted, taped and built using boxes, tissue, paper, tubes, popsicle sticks and lego. We were so sure we would find one in our traps.

We were invited to James M Hill to participate in a Mawi'omi. It was an incredible experience. The children enjoyed the beautiful dances, regalia, music, drums and listening to stories told by elders. It is one thing to read books or watch videos on a computer/SMARTBoard, but to actually take...
