Welcome Back Everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend celebrating with your Moms and Grandmothers. What a beautiful weekend it was. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the sunshine.

Here's what is happening in Kindergarten this week,

Read your Borrow-A-Book- Read and be read to each night. We have three levelled books this week. Look at the pictures to know what is going on in the story, say the beginning letter sound and sound out all letters in an unknown word, identify sight words you know. It is very important for the children to read 1 or 2 books each night and please remember to record the book title and have your child print their name on the reading log.Read your books each night and return them to class on Friday. 

Rock Star Sight Words- Continue to review and print your sight words.This week practice printing the words from your list.We have been reviewing these words daily in class. Review your sight words and once you know the words quickly, return the signed sheet to class and I will check your knowledge and send home the next sheet. 

Library- Tuesday is our library day,be sure to pack your book so you will be able to sign out a new one for the week.

Phys.Ed.-Our gym classes are Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday this week. Be sure to wear your sneakers, as with the nice weather, you may be going outside for class.                     

Don't forget to pack your water bottle daily.

Rock Star Sight Words- Continue to review and print your sight words this week.We have been reviewing the word list daily and are focused on spelling the words from the list. Please continue to work on this, as you practice your sight words.Once you know the words quickly, sign and return it to class and I will check your knowledge and send home the next sheet. 

Library- Tuesday is our library day,be sure to pack your book,so you will be able to sign out a new book for the week.

Phys.Ed.-We have gym classes on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday this week.Wear your comfy clothes.

Math- We are learning about the number 8 and the different number combinations for 8. This week in class we will play the card game "Exactly 8". Try the game at home this week.The rules of the game are attached. Have fun!!                                                              

Outside-It is still s little chilly in the mornings and we do go outside when the students arrive. So please wear a hat, mitts and warm coat, plus your rubber\winter boots.

Report Cards-go home today Monday, April 11th. Please keep the report card and the memos inside.Sign the response sheet and Parent\Teacher appoinment sheet and please return in the envelope. I will do my best to schedule interviews for the times requested. If the times alloted are not convenient for you,please let be know and we can reschedule. I will send a note with your interview time home on Tuesday.

Parent Teacher Interviews are Wednesday,April 13th from 4-6 pm and Thursday,April 14th from 8:30-11:30 am.There is no school for students on Thursday.

100th Day of School Collections- We will be celebrating the 100th Day of School on Tuesday April,19th.Today, Monday April 11th, the 100th Day memo and collection bag went home. Students are to make a collection of 100 items that can fit in the paper bag. In class we have been been counting 10 groups of 10 ten make 100. This is a much easier way for the children to count. Please return the collection to class on Tuesday.Have fun and thanks for your help!!

Library- Please return your book to school on Tuesday so you will be able to sign out a new book for the week.

Easter Lunch Special will be served on Tuesday April 12th.

Phys. Ed.-We have gym classes on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.Wear your comfy clothes.                                                                 

Outside-We still have some snow on the playground so please continue to send your child to school with winter or rubber boots, extra mittens\gloves, pants and socks.Thanks!

Are You Irish?- As we explore and celebrate St. Patricks Day this week, we want to know who in our class is Irish and what your heritage is. Please fill out the sheet,"Your Roots are Showing" with your child and have them draw a picture of a fun tradition your family does each year. Please return the sheet to school for Thusday, March 17th.Thanks!

Happy St. Patrick's Day- On Thursday, March 17th, wear your green as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day.Also we will be trying to catch a leprechaun in class, so please bring in recycables your Kinders can use to make the perfect leprechaun trap.

Math-In honour of St. Patrick's Day play "LUCKY 7" card game. You need a deck of cards, using only cards Ace(1) to 7. Place them face down in the middle of the table.Players will take turns drawing two cards, if they make 7 they keep the cards, if not, turn the cards back over and the next player has a turn.If you draw a 7, it's a "LUCKY 7", you keep the 7 and take another turn. Have fun and may the luck of the Irish be with you! 

Library- We visit the library on Tuesday. Please return your book to class, so you can sign out a new book for the week.

Phys.Ed.-We have gym classes on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday.Please dress in comfortable clothing on these days.                                                                                                                                                                      Cafeteria Lunch Special – Will now be served on Thursday March, 17th. This will be the only meal served that day.      

Outside-We will be going outside for recess,when weather permits. Please dress warmly on these days and be sure to pack your snow pants, extra mittens\gloves and socks.Students can leave these in their book bags in case they need a dry pair.Thanks!

Hello everyone!WOW, a lot of snow fell on the weekend. I hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend.

Here is what is happening this week in Kindergarten!

Borrow-A-Book- Read and be read to each night. As you read; point to each word, use the pictures for cues, look at the beginning letter and souund out all letters in an unknown word, you should recognize sight words from your list and beable to read them. Please read 1 or 2 books each night and fill in the reading log,by printing your name neatley.Use a capital letter to start your name, and lower case letters for the rest of your name.Return your borrow-a-books to class on Friday.

Rock Star Sight Words- Throughout the week,please review your sight word list. Have students spell each word from all list.Practice so many words each night. Sign the sheet and send it in once your child can quickly identify the words. I will test them and send home a new sheet if they are ready.Thanks!!

Library- Every Tuesday we visit the library. Students must return their book if they wish to sign out a new book. Students keep their book for a week.

Phys.Ed.-We have gym classes every Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday.Please, wear comfortable clothing on these days.

Hockey Jersey Day- This Friday, Feb.11th, please wear a hockey jersey in support of our Miramichi Timberwolves hockey team.

Valentine Exchange-Valentine's Day is Monday, Feb.14th. We will be exchanging valentines in class with our friends. We have 13 students in our class and I would love for the children to write a valentine to their friends. If you could do a few valentine cards each night, I am sure the children will be able to complete them on their own. I will attach a class list to this note! Thanks so much! Please wear red or pink today.
