Hello, a bit of a wet weekend but, nice and mild today, so hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy it.Please continue to encourage your little ones with getting dressed for outdoors. The more independent and quicker they are, the more time they have outside to play especially, during our recess which is only 15 minutes long. I have seen an improvement and the children are very proud when they can get ready on their own. Of course, we always lend a hand with those tricky zippers and tucking in mittens. We are expecting some snow this week,so please dress warmly and pack extra mittens and socks.

Homework-Math, please complete the numeral trace and make sheet. Trace the numeral with your pencil and then make the numerals. We still  need some practice with forming our numerals properly. You can also play Snowy Bump, again this week. In literacy, try the January letter name challenge. Time yourself to see how many letter names you can say quickly in 1 minute. Colour the happy face each time you try the challenge. Then try to identify the letter sounds quickly. Can you get to the end of the sheet in 1 minute? Circle any letter you may not recognize. Practice the "at" word family activity. Add the letters m and s to the word at to make new words mat and sat. Can you make any more "at" words? Print them on the back of your sheet. Read the sentence I sit. Learn the heart word "and".  Continue to review your sight words this week. When you know the words quickly and don't mix them up, please sign the form and return to class. I will check your childs knowledge and if they are ready for the next list, I will send it home.

Water Bottles- Please remember to bring a water bottle daily.

Phys. Ed. Classes- Our phys.ed. classes are every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please dress in comfy clothes and sneakers to run, exercise and play. Our extra phys.ed class on Wednesday afternoon is an outdoor class, so please dress for the weather.

Please send your childs skates and helmet to school. If your child needs skates and \or a helmet please let me know by Tuesday so I will have time to find them a pair that fit. Hi there! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. We are now settling back into our daily routine and I would like for you to have your little ones practice getting dressed independently at home. At school, we encourage the children to try to dress on their own, we need extra practice with zippers, putting on our mittens and tucking them in our sleeves and pulling our ski pants over our winter boots. These task can be very frustrating for many but, the more we practice the more independent and confident they become. The children are super happy when they can do it on their own and very proud when they have success, which is our goal.Remember to dress for the weather, winter coat, snowpants, hat, warm mittens(add an extra pair of mittens and socks in your book bag).

Homework-Math, please play the math game Snowy Bump a few times this week.We are playing the game in class and the children have a lot of fun when they get to bump someones marker off the number. We use connecting cubes but, you can use lego, coins or even pieces of paper, as long as they are different colours, shapes or types of objects so you don't get mixed up. In literacy, complete 2 beginning snowball letter sound sheets. Look at the letter in each row and colour the one picture in the snowball, that begins with that letter sound. Please do the front\back of this sheet. The letters we are focusing on are Aa-Hh.Please, take your time with colouring. Some children are recognizing our sight words in print and so I have sent home word list with these children. Please review the words with your child throughout the week. When they know the words quickly and don't mix them up, please sign the form and return to class. I will check their knowledge and if they are ready for the next list, I will send it home. Each child learns at their own pace, so please don't worry if they do not have the word list yet, they may still be learning letters\sounds. Once they know letter sounds, words will come easier.

Cafeteria- Daily lunch orders can be done online. Please send me a note in the agenda if your child is purchasing lunch or any item from the cafeteria. Please send a note with your childs name, indicating exactly what they are ordering, in a baggie with the money. Thanks for your support!
