A very Happy Mother's Day to all of our Mother's. May your special day be filled with lots of fun, laughter and special moments with your beautiful children. Have an awesome day, you desrve the best!       Enjoy reading your book each night with your family. Read your story a couple of times as this will help with your fleuncy.      School Book Fair- The school book fair will be held in the library from Monday May 11th to Thursday May 14th. Wednesday May 13th, will be Family night from 5-8pm. Please come out and support the school library.Thanks! Due to the book fair we will not be taking a new book out of the library. Students can return their book next week.     Phys. Ed Classes- We have gym class every Monday,Thursday and Friday. Please dress in comfortable clothing and footwear.         Show and Tell-We will have Show and Tell on Tuesday for students at Tables 1 and 2  and on Wednesday for students at Tables 3 and 4. Please remember to practicewith your family the night before what youare going to tell the class about your item.       Jump Rope For Heart- We will have a presentation about Jump Rope For Heart on Thursday May 15th. If you wish for your child to participate in this fundraising activity, please sign the permission slip being sent home and return it to school. Miss Baldwin will send home a donation envelope with the students who return their permission slip.   Victoria Day- There will be no school on Monday May 19th, the Victoria Day Holiday.

Homework- Please read your book a couple of times each night to someone at home.           HAPPY EARTH DAY-Today, April 22nd is Earth Day. We will be doing a recycling activity today with our Grade 8 Buddies. We will be talking about this very important day and our wonderful planet and the ways that we can take care of it throughout the week. Please take the time to discuss with your child the importance of Earth Day and the ways that you, as a family, can take care of the Earth. LOVE THE EARTH! It is the only home we have. Make every day, Earth Day! Check out the Earth Day activity on Starfall the weblink is below.            Show and Tell- We have Show and Tell on Tuesday for tables 1 and 2 and Wednesday for tables 3 and 4.Please practice what your are going to say  about your show and tell item with your family.        Physical Education- We have gym class on Thursday and Friday this week.Please remember to wear comfortable clothing so you can run and play.       Yearbook - Yearbook orders are due on Friday April 25th. Yearbooks are $20 each.      School Clothing- Orders for school clothing will be taken on Wednesday April 23rd at the school.      Outdoor Clothing- With the very wet weather, our playground still has a lot of snow. It is very important that the children come dressed for the weather, with boots not sneakers, snow pants or splah pants and a warm jacket.

Homework - Please read your book.            Show and Tell- For this week only Students from Tables 1 and 2 will be doing Show and Tell on  Monday instead of Tuesday and students at Tables 3 and 4 will still do their Show and Tell on Wednesday.         Library- We have library every Wednesday and students get to borrow their book for a week. They must return their book the following Wednesday if they wish to get a new book.       Teddy Bear Picnic- On Tuesday April 15th there will be NO SCHOOL  for only the Kindergarten Students due to the Teddy Bear Picnic at our school for the new students who will be coming to our school in the Fall.     There will be No Scool for students on Thursday April 17th due to Professional Development Day for Teachers.       Easter Break- There will be No School on Good Friday, April 18th and Easter Monday April 21st. We will return to school on Tuesday April 22nd which is Earth Day.       Have a very Happy Easter everyone. I hope that the Easter Bunny will leave a special treat in your Easter basket. Enjoy your holiday with your family and friends.

Please wear comfy clothes that you can run and exercise in.       Show and Tell- We have Show and Tell for students at Tables 1 and 2 on Tuesday and on Wednesday for students at Tables 3 and 4. You must return your library book each week if you are to get a new one.       The Teddy Bear Picnic for our new Kindergarten students starting school in the Fall is on Tuesday,April 15th.Therefore on this day our Kindergarten students will not have school. They will return to class on Wednesday April 16th.      
Homework-Read each night            Math Games-Math games go home on Tuesday and are due back on Thursday. I hope that you are having fun playing the games.         Show and Tell-On Tuesday's students at tables 1 and 2 do their Show and Tell and on Wednesday it will be students from tables 3 and 4.         Phys. Ed. Classes- We have Phys. Ed every Monday, Thursday and Friday. Please remember to wear comfortable clothes to run and play in.         Please remember to bundle up for the weather and remember to wear your boots,ski pants, hats and mittens.     Enjoy your week at school as you work and play with  your friends.   Homework- Please read your book each night. Remember to use you strategies if your get stuck on a word.         Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! May the luck of the Irish be with you today and everyday.Remember to wear something green to celebrate this special day March 17th.The children did a great job creating their leprechaun traps. They can't wait to see if they will catch a leprechaun. Good luck boys and girls!     WOW! What a mess! This morning we found tiny green footprints all around our classroom. That leprechaun sure was tricky. He hid our shoes, knocked over some chairs and upset the crayons. He went to everyones trap but, we did not catch him. He left us a note to say he had a lot of fun. So much fun that he decided to leave us a clue to find his pot of gold. You won't believe where we found it. In the fridge! That silly leprechaun! We enjoyed the gold coins....chocolate. Yummy!       Report Cards go home today Tuesday March 18th. Please fill out the sheet if you would like a Parent\Teacher interview. Please return this sheet and the envelope to school with your child.     Parent\ Teacher Interviews- Here are the dates and times for our Parent\Teacher Interviews: *****Thursday March 20th- 4:00pm-6:00 pm. *****Friday March 21st- No School for Students- Parent\Teacher Interviews- 9:00am-11:30am       Math games go home on Tuesday and are to be returned on Thursday. Have fun playing these games at home with your family.      Show and tell is on Tuesdays for students from tables 1 and 2 and on Wednesday for students at tables 3 and 4. Please practice with your family what you are going to tell the class about your show and tell item.       The Credit Union will be at school on Wednesday, March 19th.         We have gym class on Thursday so please remember to wear comfy clothes.         Have a great week at school girls and boys. Homework this week- Read each night and complete the pages in your duotang.        Spellathon-  Yahooooo!!!! I am so proud of all of my students, everyone in  our class is a  "Top Speller". Each student spelt all of our ten spelling words and the bonus word, Canada correctly. Way to go Kindergarten! Awesome job! The spelling test and pledge sheets go home today Monday February 24th. Please collect your pledge money this week and return it to class by Friday February 28th. Thank you very much to all of our family and friends who helped support our school Spellathon.     Winter Wellness Week- On Friday February 28th, the K-2 students will be having a Winter Fun Day. We have a whole day planned of fun activities for the children to participate in. A memo went home on Monday to inform parent's of the events planned. We will be ordering pizza on Friday for lunch. Please fill out the pizza order form for your child and return the form and money to school by Wednesday February 26th. Some activities for Winter Wellness Week will be: Wednesday Feb.26- Pink Shirt Day- Wear a pink shirt fo Bullying Awareness Thursday Feb. 27-PJ's Day- Wear your pajama's to school Friday Feb.28- Winter Wellness\School Colours Day- Wear maroon and gold - Pizza for lunch. The cafeteria will be closed.                                                                                                  March Break-Enjoy your March Break (March 3-7th) girls and boys. I hope that everyone will have a fun and relaxing week. I will see you back at school on Monday March 10th.                  Spellathon Pledge Money-Just a reminder that all Spellathon Pledge money is due Friday Feb. 28th. A huge thank you to everyone for your suppport! We appreciate your contribution to our school.

Students at Tables 3 and 4 do Show and Tell on Wednesday. Students who forgot their Show and Tell can bring it on Thursday.         Library- We have library every Wednesday. Please remember to bring your book so that you can sign out a new book.           Spellathon-Our School Spellathon test will be on Thursday February 20th. This will be a written test and will be done in the classroom. Please study your words each night and practice printing them. All pledge sheets are due Wednesday February 19th.Good luck girls and boys!       Phys. Ed.- We have Phys. Ed. classes on Thursday and Friday this week. Please wear comfortable clothing.        On Thursday and Friday this week wear red and white to cheer on our Canadian Olympic Athletes. GO CANADA GO!!!!!

Please remember to bring your book so you will be able to sign out a new book.          Yahoooo! Wednesday is the 100th day of school. We are so excited that this special day is here. Remember to bring in your 100th day collection, can goods for the food bank and a snack for the 100th day soup. We have a lot of fun things planned for this special day.                 It is sure to be a lot of FUN!!!!!!        Physical Education- We have phys.ed classes every Monday,Thursday and Friday. Please wear comfortable clothing.       Happy Valentine's Day-Friday February 14th is Valentine's Day. We will be exchanging Valentine's in class today. The students have printed their class list and will be taking it home on Monday. Please allow the students to print their own Valentine's to their classmates. It is not necessary to send in a snack but if you do please remember to make it nut free.   Valentine Lunch Special - On Valentine's Day the cafeteria will be serving only the Valentine Special. You must preorder by Tuesday February 11th if you wish to have this meal.     Winter Olympics- Remember to wear red and white on Friday to show your support for our Canadian Athletes. GO CANADA GO!!!!         No School- There will be no school for students on Monday February 17th as it is a Professional Learning Day for teachers.       Spellathon- Remember to collect pledges and study your spelling words.

Spellathon Fundraiser- Our annual school spellathon has begun. This is our major fundraiser for our school. Information, pledge sheets and spelling list have been sent home. I encourage all students to collect pledges and study their spelling words. We will be working with our spelling words daily and hope to have all students be top spellers. Good luck boys and girls!   Sochi Olympics- The  Winter Olympics have begun and we will be cheering on our Canadian athletes in class as they go for the gold. As of today, Canada has 3 medals agold, silver and bronze. Way to go Canada! Be sure to watch our Canadain athletes at home with your child.I have included a link to CBC- Sochi Winter Olympics.           To support our Canadian athletes we will be wearing red and white on every Friday (Feb.7th,14th,21st) during the Olympics. GO CANADA GO!
Homework this Week- ** Read each night **Print the word of the week **Complete pages in homework book     Show and Tell- This week we will begin our Show and Tell. On Tuesday, the students who sit at Table 1(Amelia, Callie, Cayden, Eddie) and Table 2(Ben,Jacinda, Mya,Rebecca) will do their Show and Tell. On Wednesday the students who sit at Table 3(Abby,Hunter, Kaycea, Regan) and  Table 4(Cameron, Madison, Novalee, Ryan) will do their Show and Tell. Students are asked to bring one item, that is not valuable or breakable and can fit into their bookbag to show and  talk about. Please read the memo which was sent home on Friday January 17th.        Library-On Wednesday we will go to the library to exchange our book.  Don't forget to bring back your book.          Physical Education- We have gym classes every Monday,Thursday and Friday. Homework- Read each night * Print the word of the week. * Complete 2 writing pages in your homework book. When writing your sentences use the word sheet in the front of your book and sound out the words you are trying to spell.       Library- We have library every Wednesday. Remember to bring back the book you borrowed so that you can get a new book.           Physical Education- We have gym class every Monday, Thursday and Friday. Remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.           Skating- We have skating on January 16, 9:4am @ the Civic Center.We will be skating with our grade 8Buddies from Mr. Keating's class.         100th Day od School-We are off to a great 2014. It is hard to belive that we have been at school for 80 days. As the 100th day of school is fast approaching start looking for things to put in your 100th day collection. Information about the 100th day of school celebrations will be sent home soon.

     Welcome back boys and girls. I hope that you had a great holiday with your family and friends. It is great to be back to school with our friends. I know that this will be an awesome year.      Homework- This week please read your book each night. Remember the reading strategies we have talked about in class. They will help you if you get stuck on a word. Try and figure it out on your own first and if you can't get the word ask for help. Please print the word of the week in your agenda.     Cold Weather- Brrrrr!!!! We have had some very cold weather this Winter. Please remember to dress for the weather and bring your hats, mittens and ski pants to school with you.            Library-We borrowed our first book from the library this Wednesday. The children love to choose their own book. Books about animals certainly seem to be a favourite. Your book is due back every Wednesday.               Phys. Ed.- This week we have gym class on Thursday and Friday. Yeah!!!! We love to go to the gym!           Skating- We will be going skating on January 16th  at 9:40am. This will be a special activity because we get to go with our Grade 8 buddies form Mr. Keating's class. The student's are very excited and can't wait to go.

  Santa Visit- We were very surprised and happy to have a special visit from Santa at our Christmas Dinner on December 12th. The children were very excited and all smiles to get their picture with SANTA.               Please read your Borrow -A-Book each night from Monday to Thursday.                Christmas Concert- The Kindergarten children did an awesome job this morning at the Christmas Concert. Everyone looked lovely and did a wonderful job with their Christmas Alphabet, Greeting, songs Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the Reindeer Pokey. The audience loved your performance and were certainly feeling the Christmas spirit when they left .                                                                                                                                                                        Friday December 20th is our last day of school before the Christmas break. This is a full day. The K-2 students have a special day planned, with a reading by Mr. Fitzpatrick of the story book, The Polar Express and then we will watch the movie. Be sure to wear your comfy pajams on this day.         I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope your holidays are filled with special moments with family and friends.  Have a wonderful Christmas break, everyone!

   Homework this week- **Read each night  **Complete pages in your duotang **Print the word of the week **Review letters \sounds      Christmas Store- On Tuesday students will beable to purchase gifts at the Christmas store. The cost of the items will be $1.00-$3.00.          Turkey Dinner- Our annual Christmas Dinner will be served at the cafeteria tomorrow Wednesday December 11th during all three lunch hours. Students have already pre-ordered their meals. This will be the only meal served so if your child did not order then they will have to bring their own lunch to school.     Skating- We have skatng Thursday December 12 from 9:00am -9:40am at the Civic Center.
