Homework- Read your book twice each night to build your fluency.-Permission slip for Hospital Tour goes home on Monday April 20th. Please sign and return your slip on Tuesday April, 21st.    We have Gym classes every Monday-Thursday. Please dress appropriately.         Math games go home on Tuesday and are to be returned on Thursday. Don't forget to sign your log sheet and let me know if you liked the game.Have fun playing with your family.        Happy Earth Day everyone! Earth Day is on Wednesday April 22nd. In celebration of our amazing planet please wear blue and green. We are also asking students to bring a litterlss lunch on Wednesday. The goal is to throw out less garbage at lunch time.       Hospital Tour-On Wednesday April 22nd,the Kindergarten students will be touring our local hospital. The goal of this visit is to familarize the students with their hospital and the different departments which they may have to visit if they go to the hospital. We will be leaving the school at 9:00am and return around 11:00am. Please remember to sign and return the permission slip that was sent home on Monday.    We have library every Wednesday afternoon. You must return your library book if you wish to sign out a new book.       We have Show and Tell on Wednesday. Homework- Read each night             - Math- Complete 3D shape search at home      We have Gym class every Monday- Thursday.      Math games go home on Tuesday and are due back on Thursday.     We go to the library every Wednesday. Please remember to bring your book so that you can sign out a new book.     Show and Tell is on Wednesday. Remember to practice what you want to say about your item at home with your family.   There will be no school for the Kindergarten students on Friday April 17th, due to our Teddy Bear picnic with the students who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall.   Have a great week at school everyone. The cost is $20.00,   Pre-order for the cafeteria Easter special is also due on March 31st. The cost is $6,00      We have library every Wednesday afternoon. All books are to be returned before a new book can be signed out.      Show and Tell is every Wednesday remember to practice the night before with your family.        We have gym class every Monday to Thursday.Please wear sneakers and comfortable  on these days.                                                                          The Easter Lunch Special will be the only meal being served in the csfeteria on Thursday April 2nd.    Easter- There will be no school on Good Friday April 3rd and Easter Monaday April 6th.   Have a very special Easter celebration with your family and friends.

May the luck of the Irish be with you today and the rest of the year! On Tuesday March 17th,be sure to wear your green as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day at school.            Book orders will go home Tuesday March 17th and are due back by Thursday March 19th.           We have gym classes every Monday to Thursday. Please dress in comfortable clothing so that you can run, play and have fun.         Show and Tell is every Wednesday. Homework this week- Read every night                         - Pass in your numeral for the 100th Day Quilt on Monday                         - Complete 2 printing pages                         - Collect 100 things                                                                 Spelling test and pledge sheets go home on Monday,Feb.23rd. Please collct your pledge money and return to class by Friday,Feb. 27th           We have gym class every Monday to Wednesday.             Library- Please return your library book every Wednesday so that you will be able to sign out a new book.             For Show and Tell this Wednesday we will show our collection of 100 things.       Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day.Please wear pink to show that you stand up to help stop bullying.             We are so excited for the 100th Day of School. The progress the children have made in 100 days is amazing and I am very proud of them. We have a lot of fun activities planned for the day. Don't forget to bring in a snack to add to our 100th Day soup, such as: fruit loops,chocolate chips,jelly beans, mini marshmallows etc. Please bring a food item donation for the bank. We are trying to collect 100 can goods.   As part of oue Winter Wellneess Week we will be having a PJ Day on Thursday so please wear your pajama's.On Friday it is school colours day, so be sure to wear burgandy and gold. On Friday the K-2 students willl be ordering pizza for lunch. This will be the only meal available as the cafeteria will not beopen. If your child does not want pizza they will have to bring their lunch. Please read the memo sent home on Winter Wellness and return the sheet with your child's pizza order to class by Thursday.             Our March Break is March 2-6th, I hope that everyone has a very fun and safe break. I will see you back at class on Monday, March 9th.

Please remember to bring your book so that you can sign out a new one.             Spell-A-Thon-  All pledge sheets are due on Tuesday February 17th. Our spelling test will now be on Friday February 20th.We have been having a lot of fun learning our spelling words in class. The students are doing a great job. Please continue to study the spelling words at home.         Our 100th Day of School is fast approaching and was expected to be Monday February 23rd. With the  recent snow days, we are now looking at Wednesday February 25th. We are sending home a memo to explain the activities we have planned for the K-2 students. Please read the information carefully,as the students are asked to complete a numeral for the 100th Day Quilt and bring in a collection of 100 things.      Wow! What a lot of snow. Please remember to bundle up before you leave home as it is vey cold outside. Also, please pack an extra pair of mittens to have in case your other pair gets wet when you play outside.     Smile and have an awesome week at school. I would also like to say a very big thank you to students and parents for the wonderful stickers I recieved. Your kindness was greatly appreciated and the stickers will certainly be put to great use.

Please dress in comfortable clothes.     We have library every Wednesday afternoon. Remember to return your book so that you can get a new one.    Show and Tell is every Wednesday. Remember to practice at home with your family what you are going to tell the class.     We will be exchanging Valentines in class on Thursday February 12th. There is no need to send in a treat but if you wish to please remember that it must be peanut free.    There is no school for students on Friday February 13th due to Professional Learning Day for teachers.   Have a very Happy Valentine's Day everyone.Be kind to each other and share your love on this special day.    Our Canadian flags birthday is on Sunday February 15th. To celebrate our awesome country and flag we are asking everyone to wear red and white on Monday February 16th.

Homework- This Week- Read each night                            - Review sight words                            - Complete 3 printing pages- return homework book Friday       We have been learning about the groundhog and would like to thank everyone for helping us with our Groundhog Day survey. We totaled the results in class and it was very close, 52 people thought the groundhog would not see it's shadow and 49 people thought it would. We know that the groundhog did see it's shadow so we will have 6 more weeks of winter.       Our annual school Spell-a-thon will kickoff on Tuesday February 3rd. We are asking everyone to wear burgundy and gold, our school colours, to show your school spirit. Should their be no school on Tuesday, we will have our assembly on Wednesday.A memo and spell-a-thon pledge sheet will be going home on the day of the assembly.          Library- We have library every Wednesday afternoon. Please return your book so that you can sign out a new one.           We have Show and Tell on Wednesday. Students are to bring in an item they would like to show and tell their friends about. It would be helpful if the students could practice at home so they willl fill comfortable talking in class.         We have gym classes every Monday-Thursday. Please wear comfy shoes and clothing to run and play in.         We will be exchanging valentine'sin class on February 12th. I will be sending home our class list on Friday. I would like the students to print their own Valentine to their friends and hope that this will give them lots of time to complete them on their own.

A memo, outlining how this very important and fun literacy activity works is being sent home. Please read the information carefully so that you will be able to help your child prepare.    We have skating on Thursday January 29th from 10:20-11:00 am at the Civic Center. Remember to wear a CSA approved helmet. Parents and family members are encouraged to join their child on the ice.

Read each night Complete printing pages in homework book Review Zoophonics          School Spirit Week-We are getting into the Christmas Spirit and invite the students to show their spirit by participating in the followng events Tuesday- Christmas hat or headgear day Wednesday- Dress Up or Red, Green & White Day Thursday- Christmas Sweater Day                        Friday- PJ Day   Our School Christmas Concert is Wednesday Dec. 17 th at 12:00am for the K-2 students. Storm date is Thursday Dec. 18th           The Polar Express- In keeping wih tradition,the K-2 students will be having a Polar Express Day on Friday Dec. 18th. Students are asked to wear their pj's, just as the characters in the book. Students will watch the movie and enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn.       Friday Dec.18th is the last day of classes for students. This will be a full day. I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a fantsatic holiday season filled with lots of fun and laughter.

Buddy Skating- We will be skating today Monday Dec. 8th with our Grade 8 Buddies and Mrs Poole's class. We skate at the Civic Center from 9-9:45am. All students must wear skates and a CSA approved helmet on the ice. It would be wonderful if someone could assist your child on the ice, especially if it is their first time on skates.     Christmas Shoppe- The Home and School Christmas Shoppe is open Monday Dec.8th-Wednesday Dec.10th. Students will be able to purchase gifts for their parents which will be wrapped for them. Donations for the shoppe are still being accepted and may be dropped off at the school on Monday morning.        Read each night. Review Zoophonics this week. Homework Book-4 printing pages.Complete one page each night and return your book on Friday.       Annual Christmas Dinner will be served in the cafeteria on Wednesday Dec. 10th. The cost for the meal for K-2 students is $4.50. This will be the only meal served, so please bring a lunch if you do not like turkey,       Gym Classes are every Monday to Thuraday. Please wear comfy clothing and sneakers so that you can run, play and have fun.         We will be collecting items for our local food bank until Friday Dec. 12th. If you wish to donate you can send your items to school with your child

    Homework -Read each night     - Review Zoophonics this week    - Homework book - 4 printing pages this week> Do a page each night.     Return your Homework book to class on Friday.                            School Book Fair starts Monday Dec. 1st until Thursday Dec. 4th. Family night is on Wed. Dec. 3rd from 5-8pm. in the school library.              Library-  This week all library books are to be returned to the library. We will not be taking out a new book until after our Christmas break.           Phys. Ed.- We have gym classes every Monday to Thursday. Please wear comfy clothes and sneakers.            A Santa Calendar was sent home today, Dec. 1st. with each student. Students were given a bag of cotton balls so that they can add a cotton ball each day to Santa's beard. When Santa's beard is full it will be Christmas day. YEAHHH!!!! Students will need a glue stick to glue the cottonballs to Santa's beard.       Skating- Just a reminder that we have skating on Monday Dec. 8th at the Civic Center 9-9:45am. Students must wear skates and a CSA approved helmet on the ice.
