Homework this week- Read your borrow-a-book each night         Review Zoo-phonics letters/sounds and actions and play a rhyming game Complete 3 pages in duotang     We have Phys. Ed. classes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please come prepared to run and have fun.           Our school book fair will be held Monday Nov. 30th until Thursday Dec.3rd. Family Night is Wednesday Dec. 2nd.      Our annual Christmas Dinner will be on Wednesday Dec.9th. You must pre-order your meal by Wednesday Dec.2nd. The menu is turkey, potatoe, dressing, veggies, dessert, milk. The cost of the meal is $5.00.   We have been learning about healthy lifestyles and the importance of eating healthy foods. Together at home have your child help you make a healthy lunch or meal.     On Dec.1st the students will be taking home a Santa Calendar and cottonballs. Students are to add a cottonball to Santa's beard everyday until Christmas. When Santa's beard is completely full then it will be Christmas. Enjoy this special activity, I am sure that the children will love filling in Santa's beard.

Be sure to sign your log sheet.Complete three pages in your duotang and return your book on Friday.     We have Phys.Ed classes every Monday,Tuesday and Thursday.Remember to wear comfortable clothing.          We have library every Wednesday. Remember to return your book each week so that you can sign out a new book.       With the snowy weather now here, please remember to wear your hat, mittens and warmer coats.     We are continuing to explore numbers to ten. You can practice counting forwards and backwards to ten, making gropus to ten,match the correct numeral to the group of objects and practice forming your numerals correctly.          Have an awesome week in Kindergarten, eveeryone! Remember to follow our I Care Rules, care, share, play fair and have fun. Smile!!!!

Homework this week: Read each night                                      Review Zoo-phonics and rhyme                                      Complete 4 pages in your book       We have Phys. Ed classes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Dress in comfortable clothes on these days.     Report Cards go home on Tuesday, November 17. Parents are asked to read and keep the copy of the report card and Summary of Concepts. Please sign and return the sheet indicating you read the report and the request for a parent\teacher interview sheet, with the time slot you would like. Please return both of these forms back to school in the report card envelop. Thanks.   We have library on Wednesday afternoon. We did not have library last week due to Remembrance Day so your are  returning books signed out two weeks ago on Nov. 4th. It is important to return your book each week if you wish to sign out a new book.    There will be no school for students on Friday Nov. 20th due to Parent\Teacher Interviews from 9:00- 11:30am. Interviews will also be held on Thursday Nov. 19th form 4:00- 6:00pm.  If you wish to schedule an interview time please return the form indicating the times that are convient for you. I will do my best to schedule your interview as close to the time you request. Your scheduled interview will be sent home on Wednesday. If your are unable to attend the interviews during this time please call me at the school, 627-4074 and we can arrange another time.   It is time to get out your hats and mittens to keep you warm on these cold November mornings.     It is hard to believe that our first term in Kindergarten has come and gone. I have enjoyed getting to know each of you and I am very proud of all of you and the progress that each of you have made. We have had a lot of fun and I am excited for next term. Have a great week at school and enjoy your long weekend at home. I willl see you on Monday.SMILE!!!!!

Hello everyone. I hope that you had a fun weekend with your family. We have a busy week in Kindergarten. This week for homework please read each night and sign your name on the reading log.Review your Zoo-phonics actions, letters and sounds. We have focused on letters a-g so far in class and will work on the letters h and i this week. Your goal is to identify the action, letter name and the initial letter sound for all of these letters.In your homework book you have 4 pages this week to complete. Three printing pages-trace and make, and one math page. Remember to use a pencil to do your work. Your book is due on Friday.      This week our Phys. Ed classes are on Monday and Thursday. You will be running and playing in the gym so please wear comfortable clothing.        Our school Remembrance Day ceremony will be Tuesday Nov. 10th at 10:00 am. Parents are welcome to join us as we celebrate our Veterans and show our respect and thanks for the service. Students are asked to bring in a poppy donation for their poppy.        Book orders are due on Tuesday Nov. 10th.       There will be no school on Remembrance Day, Wednesday Nov. 11th as we take time to honour and remember our brave men and women who fought so selflessly to protect our beautiful country. We have been discussing in class the importance of Rememberance Day and why we should wear a poppy and be thankful to all those who fought for our freedom. Please share with your child your feelings about Remembrance Day.

Homework this week- Read each night - Review Zoophonics letter name, action and sounds- Play a rhyming word game -Complete 3 printing pages in your book. Your book is due on Friday.  Phys. Ed classes are every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Students should come dressed to run and play.   We go to the library every Wednesday and your book is due on this day. You must return your book if you wish to sign out a new book.     On Thursday Nov. 5th we will be going skating at the Civic Center with our Grade 8 buddies.Our ice time is 9:45-10:25am. As this is our first time skating it would be great if every child had someone to come with them. Students need to bring skates, gloves\mittens and must wear a helmet (preferably a CSA approved helmet) when they are on the ice. There are some skates here at school that you are welcome to come and borrow should your child not have any to wear.  Have a fantastic week in Kindergarten as you learn, play, share and have fun with your classmates.Smile!!!

 Homework- Read each night            - Review Zoo-phonics and rhyme            - Complete 4 pages in your homework book            - Return homework book on Friday.    Gym classes are every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Don't forget to wear comfortable clothing for running and having fun.        We go to the library every Wednesday. Students must return their library book if they wish to sign out a new book.Student may keep their book for one week and return it the folllowing Wednesday.      School Spirit Week kicks of on Tuesday October 27th to Friday October 30th. Tuesday is Plaid Shirt Day, Wednesday is Pajama Day, Thursday is School Colours day and Friday is Twin Day. Students who wish to dress up on these days are asked to bring a donation to help support some of our Middle School Students who will be participating in "We Day" in Halifax.       Have a safe and fun Halloween, everyone!

Homework-This week please read each night.                - Review Zoo-phonics and practice rhyming                - Complete 3 printing pages letters d,e,f. Please use a pencil when you print.Do one page of printing each night and return your book on Friday.   We have Phys. Ed classes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and your sneakers.    Library- We have library every Wednesday afternoon. Please return your book so that you can sign out a new book.    Math- We are beginning our unit on numbers. We will be focusing on numbers 1 to 5. You can encourage your child to be counting objects at home. Can your child reconize the numerals to 5 and can they make sets for these numbers? Have fun exploring numbers and counting at home with your child! You can continue to explore patterns at home as we will still be creating and extending patterns in class.  Dd is for dinosaur, dog and Dee Dee Deer. We are working on the letters "d and e" this week in class. Students can look at home for objects that start with these letters and also look to find these letters in print. Do you have these letters in your name?     Brrrr...It sure has gotten chilly,especially in the mornings. The children will be going outside to play so don't forget to bunlde up warm and wear your hats and mittens.     I can't wait to see what fun things will happen in class. I have some new Halloween poems that I am excite to share with you. Let's have an awesome week everyone. Be kind to each other. SMILE!!!!!    
Monday October 12th- Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I hope that everyone has a wonderful day celebrating with their family and friends. I am very thankful for my wonderful class.       Homework this week- Please read every night. Point to each word as you read and stop reading when you come to the period. Re-read your book.                       - Review Zoo-phonics animals,letters & sounds.                       - 3 Printing pages- We have been working on the letters a,b,c,This week I am sending home printing pages for each of these letters. Please follow the instructions for proper formation of these letters. Students should always use a pencil for printing. Students practice tracing and making the letters. Please do not use an eraser if a mistake is made. The idea is to practice making letters the proper way and it is necessary to see where the students make mistakes.  Math- We have been working on creating and extending patterns in Math. A pattern is something that repeats over and over again. Look for patterns at home.Tell someone what the pattern is and what will come next in the pattern.     This week we have Phys.Ed class on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wear comfortable clothing to run and play in.      We go to the library every Wednesday. Remember to return your book if you wish to borrow a new book.          Picture re-takes will be on Thursday October 15th.       I can't wait to see everyone after our special Thanksgiving Weekend. I hope everyone is well rested and eager to get back to school.Let's have a great week in Kindergarten, as we learn and play with our friends.

This week please:  Read each night, remember to sign your log sheet.                      Review your Zoo-phonics animals-actions,letters & sounds          A big thank you to everyone who donated to our Terry Fox walk and joined us for this special event. We learned a lot about Terry Fox, he was turly an amazing young man and  we were proud to carry on Terry's dream.         In math we are working on patterns .We can find patterns everywhere. Search for patterns at home and tell someone what repeats in the pattern.    We have Phys. Ed classes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please wear comfy clothes and your sneakers on thesse days.       We have library every Wednesday afternoon. Students must return their book if they wish to sign out a new one.       This week is Fire Prevention Week. Members of the Miramichi Fire Department will be at our school on Monday to give a presentation to the students. Please remember to review fire safety rules at home with your children, practice a family fire drill knowing two ways out of your home and where your family meeting place will be and also check your smoke detectors.     There will be no school for students on Thursday October 8th and Friday October 9th due to Professional Learning Development Days for Teachers.      I would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving Day  on Monday October 12th. Enjoy this very special day with your family and friends. I will see you back at school on Tuesday.

We enjoyed our tour, loved the hay ride and the delicious apples. What an awesome day!           We have Phys. Ed classes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Students must return their book if they wish to sign out a new book.      National School Terry Fox Walk- In honour of the 35th anniversary of the Terry Fox Walk , our school will be participating in this special event and carrying on Terry's dream. Our walk will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30th at 1:00pm. We would love to have you come out and join us.

Welcome to Kindergarten! We are off to a terrific start and having fun getting to know each other.      A very big thank you to our Grandparents who do so much for us. We loved performing our song and poem for you at our Grandparents Tea. We love you very much!         We are off to McAllister's Apple Orchard tomorrow,Friday,September 25th. A big thank you to the Home & School and Student Council for funding our trip. Please remember to bring a bag lunch and drink. Dress for the weather and don't forget your rubber boots as the grass can be very wet at the orchard.    
This is our final week in Kindergarten. It has been a wonderful year and I am very proud of each of you and the accomplishments you have made.Ivy, Hannah, Isabel, Ledger, Rowyn, Lana, Clare, Katelyn, Kierstyn, Cameron, Alissa, Eria and Tyler, I am so glad to have had the opportunity to be your teacher and I hope that you had as much fun this year as I did.Have a fun and safe summer. Smile!Smile! Smile!    Homework - Read your book on Monday and Tuesday. Make sure your read it twice.                   - Starting Monday, the students will be bringing some of their work books home so that they will not have as much to carry on Friday.                        Our K-2 Sport's Day is on Tuesday June 16th. Remember to wear sneakers, sun screen and bug spray. We are ordering pizza for lunch so the cafeteria will be closed. The cost of the pizza is $1.00 a slice. Bring your snack and a water bottle.            On Wednesday we will be going on a field trip to Beaubear's Island. This is a great way to end our year and learn about what our community use to be like in the past. Please wear sneakers, sun screen and bug spray. You must bring a bag lunch and a water bottle as we will be eating on the Island. We have a lot of activities planned by the interpretive center staff, so it should be an awesome day. Please remember to bring your signed permission slip and $2.00.    The final day of school will be a half day with an early dismissal at 11:00 am. Report cards will be given out this time.            A very Happy Father's Day to all of our wonderful Dads. Enjoy your special day on Sunday June 21st.     Have a fantastic summer vacation everyone!   
Wow! Can you believe that it is June already? We have a very busy month ahead of us. Have fun and enjoy your last month in Kindergarten.    Homework- Read each night- Students are now choosing their own book. As this is their first time reading this  book,students are encouraged to use their reading strategies if they get stuck on a word. Please read your book 2 or 3 times to build your fluency.            - Complete 2 pages in your homework book. Return your book on Friday.     We have Gym Classes are every Monday to Thursday. Please remember to wear  your sneakers .     Our Timeline  project goes home on Tuesday and are due Monday June 8th. Please help your child by sharing with them what they were like as babies and toddlers. Students will present their timeline in class.        Wednesday will be our last library visit. Please return your books as all library books are do by June 5th.      Our final Show and Tell is on Wednesday. Please practice at home with your family what you are going to say, before you share with the class.     Please wear red on Thursday June 4th in memory of the Moncton R.C.M.P Officers.      Have an awesome first week of June in Kindergarten,everyone!  Smile, Smile, Smile!!!!

Welcome May- It has been wonderful to see the sun and say good-bye to the snow.Even with the warmer weather,it is still a bit chilly in the mornings. In honour of these amazing athletes please wear red and white on Friday.         HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY- To all Mom's and Grandmother's a big thank you for everything you do. Have a fantastic day on Sunday. The children have worked very hard on their gifts and are very excited to celebrate with you.
