  Brrrr. It is time to bundle up nice and warm in your winter coat, ski pants, boots, hats, mittens and gloves.          Homework this week-  *Read each night *Print the word of the week *Complete 4 pages in your duotang *Review leeters\sounds       Hospital Tour-On Wednesday November 27th our class will be going to the Hospital for a Kindergarten tour. Please read, sign and return the permossion slip by Wednesday. Thanks!       On Wednesday November 27th, Ice Cream will be sold during the lunch hour for $1.00.           Phys. Ed. Class- Monday, Thursday and Friday are the days we have gym. Dress in comfy clothes and wear your sneakers.

  Homework this Week * Read each night *Print the word of the week *Complete 3 pages in your duotang *Review letters/sounds     Report Cards- Our report cards go home on Tuesday November 19th. Please keep the report and send the envelop back to school with your child.       Library- We have library on Wednesday. Please remember to return your book so you can sign out a new book.      Colombian Day- We are celebrating our Colombian students here at Nelson Rural School on Thursday November 21st. Remember to wear the colours,yellow, blue and red (colours of the Colombian flag) today to help celebrate our new friends.   Skating- On Thursday November 21st we will be going to the Civic Center for our first day of skating. We will leave the school at 9:15 am. Our ice time is 9:40-10:25 am. We strongly suggest that every Kindergarten child have a parent or supervisor on the ice with them, especially if this is your child's first time on skates. All students must have a CSA approved helmet and gloves or mittens, splash pants or snow pants would also be great to wear. Thanks for your support and see you at the rink.     Parent\Teacher Interviews will be held on Thursday November 21st 4:00-6:00pm. and Friday November 22nd 9:00-11:30am. Hope to see you there. If you are unable to attend and would  like an interview please contact me at school (627-4074) and I will be happy to schedule a time for you.     Just a reminder- There is NO SCHOOL Friday November 22nd for students due to Parent\Teacher Interviews

 Homework Read each night Print your name                           Complete 3 pages in your duotang                           Review Zoo-phonics letters/sounds                           Read information on Rememberance Day     Library- Don't forget to bring your library book on Wednesday.       K-2 Literacy Night- This Thursday November 7th, from 6:30-7:30 pm., the K-2 teacher's  will be hosting a Literacy evening in the school library. We will share with some of the different components and techniques we use during our daily Literacy Block. Hope to see you there!     School Rememberance Day Service - Our school Rememberance Day service will be held on Friday November 8th at 10:00am in the school gym. Everyone is welcome to attend. Rememberance Day- On Monday November 11th there will be no school in honour of Rememberance Day. Please take the time with your children on this very important day to remember those who fought and sacrificed so much that we could live in our wonderful country, Canada.    A big Thank You, to those who sent in a food bank donation of Kraft Dinner for the our School District, Christmas Food Drive. Any donation is greatly appreciated.   Cooler Weather- The cooler weather is now here. We encourage the children to wear warmer clothing, jackets, gloves, mittens and hats so they will be well prepared and warm when go outside to play.

Classes- Our Phys.Ed classes are on  Monday's, Thursday's and Fridya's. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear.         Library- We have library every Wednesday. Remember to bring back your book so you can get a new one.       Happy Halloween everyone. To celerate the day please wear orange and black on Thursday, October 31st. The Halloween Special is the only meal being served at the cafeteria. You can still buy milk and juice.        Be safe and have fun trick- or- treating tonigt.         Elephants- We have been learning lots of interesting facts about elephants. Be sure to ask your child to share the neat information they have learned like, an elephants trunk is over 2 metres long. WOW!

    Pumpkin Carving Contest- Bring your carved pumpkin to school on Monday October 28th for the pumpkin carving contest sponsored by the Home and School.         Cafeteria- A Halloween Lunch Special will be served on October 31st in the school cafeteria. You are asked to please pre-order your meal by Monday Oct. 28th.   This will be the only meal served that day.

 Cookie Dough Orders for the Home and School are due Friday October 18th.       Book orders are due Friday October 18th.        The Grade 7 students will be selling bracelets during the lunch hour for $1.00    on Friday October the 18th.

Remember to bring back your library             book so you can sign out a new one.          Phys.Ed- On Thursday and Friday of this week we have Phys. Ed class. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes on for gym class.       We will be learning some new Halloween poems over the next two weeks. Be sure to share the poems with your family.  Homework this week- Read each night                                - Review Zoo-phonics                               - 3 printing pages in homework duo-tang              Fire Safety Week-  This is Fire Safety week. Our local fire fighters will be here on Tuesday Oct. 8th to give  a presentation. Please review  the  Fire Safety booklet that was sent home with your child. Remember to check your smoke detectors and practice your Fire Escape Plan at home.               No School          Just a reminder that there is no School for Students on:   - Thursday  Oct. 10  -  Friday Oct. 11th    - Monday Oct. 14th (Thanksgiving)                           -                                                                                                             Have a wonderful Thanksgivng everyone.  Apple Orchard We had a great day at the apple orchard. It was a perfect fall day to be at McAllister's Farm. We loved the hay ride and the apples were delicious. A big thank you to our friends at McAllister's Farm for taking us on a tour of their orchard and telling us all about apples. Pictures of our trip will be posted soon.

  Wellness Week This week is Wellness Week in NB. We have been participating in some wellness activities. On Thursday it is Twin Day- dress like  someone else. Friday is Fitness and School Colours Day. Our school colours are maroon and gold.

 Apple Orchard                                                                                                                                       We are off to the Apple Orchard on Tuesday Oct. 1st. We are off to a great start in kindergarten.  So glad to have all of our new boys and girls in my class.  I hope we have a fun, terrific first year at school.

                                                     December 7- Christmas Sale December 8- Christmas Tree Lighting (6:00pm.) December 10th- Perception Surveys due today. December 13-17th-Christmas Spirit Week (Peer Helpers)          Monday- Dress as an elf           Tuesday- Dress as a reindeer          Wednesday- red and green day          Thursday - Bring a teddy or stuff animal to show Santa you are ready           Friday- Crazy Christmas Hair day December 15th- Christmas Dinner- cost for students is $4.00. This will be the only meal served that day, so please bring your own lunch if you do not like turkey. December 16 - Middle Scchool Dance December 20th- Skating for Kindergarten Classes (Ice Time 10:20-11:00) December 22- Christmas Concert - 2 Shows- 9:00am & 12:00pm. No Cafeteria on this day. December 25th- Merry Christmas!     January 1st 2011- HAPPY NEW YEAR  January 10th- CI Day - No School for students  January 11th- First Day Back  for Students
