The students have been using it at school since February. Please see the attached document and video to find out more about the program.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a fun and relaxing March Break!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is Thursday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on /ay/ words and our word work activity is with the spelling words. The writing activity focuses on using voice in writing. What would you do if you were a snowman? Write about how you would feel. Make sure you begin and end your sentences properly and tell good details. In math we are starting work on the calendar, how to use it, days of the week and months of the year. We will also be working on pictographs and equal and unequal. Keep working on your facts and strategies and counting, as we will continue to work on these. Make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - Just a reminder that all pledge money was due back on February 28th. Please get it in this week if you have not already done so.

Hi Everyone!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Friday, so make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on more than one, adding /s/ to the end of a word and the word work activity is on this as well. We continue to work on the voice trait in writing, so our writing activity is on adding voice. Write about a time you went sliding. Tell good details and add voice to tell how you felt. In math we are working on finding the missing number with adding and subtracting. Please make sure that you are reading your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spell-A-Thon - All pledge sheets were due on Wednesday February 19th. The Spell-A-Thon was held in each class on February 20th. Pledge sheets and corrected tests will be going home on Monday February 24th. Now is the time to collect your pledge money, if you have not already done so. All pledge money is due back on Friday February 28th. Thank you for your support with this fundraiser.

Pink Shirt Day - Wednesday February 26th is Pink Shirt Day. Students and staff are asked to wear pink to stand up to bullying!

March Break - Our March Break is from March 2nd to March 6th. Have a fun week off!

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. This will be our last week for our Spell-A-Thon words, so make sure you study them. The Spell-A-Thon will be held in each class on Thursday February 20th. Good luck!! In math we are working on fact families, order in addition and subtraction and counting to 100 in different ways. Make sure you read your book each night and record it on your log sheet.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Thursday, so make sure you bring your book back so you can take out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words for the week are our Spell-A-Thon words. The word work activity is with these words too. In math we are working on adding and subtracting using strategies, word problems and order in addition and subtraction. Our writing activity is on using voice in writing. The 100th Day of School is coming up, so write about soomething you would love to have 100 of and something you would never want to have 100 of. Make sure you add voice and give good details. Remember to read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

100th Day Of School - Our 100th Day Of School is on Friday February 14th. Students can bring in their collections on Wednesday February 12th. The K-2 classes are tryong to collect 100 items for the Food Bank. If you can bring something in that would be great.

Valentine's Day - The students can exchange valentines on Friday February 14th. A list of names was sent home with the students.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - All pledge sheets are due back on Wednesday February 19th. The Spell-A-Thon will be held in each class on Thursday February 20th. Please continue to work on your words at home. We are working on them at school too.

Flag Day - We will be celebrating Flag Day on Friday February 14th. Students and staff are asked to wear red and white or Canada clothing. There will be an assembly at 10:00AM.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week are our Spell-A-Thon words and the word work activity is on this too. We will be using these words for the next 2 weeks. We have started working on the voice trait in writing and the writing activity focuses on this. In math we are continuing to work on mental math strategies to help with adding and subtracting, word problems and counting in different ways. Make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Skating - Our class will be going skating on Tuesday February 4th. The ice time is from 10:00 - 10:40AM. Students need their skates and helmets. If they need to borrow some from the school, please let me know. Please join us at the rink if you can.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - Our annual Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser kicked off on Thursday January 30th. This is our major fundraiser for the year to support Student Activities. Students have a list of words that they are to learn how to spell. They are also asked to collect pledges or donations for this fundraiser. Thank you for your support with this activity.

Scholastic Book Orders - If you would like to order a book from this months order, please have them in by Friday February 7th.

No School - Just a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday January 27th, as it is a PLD for teachers.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Thursday, make sure you bring your book back so you can get another one.

Homework/ Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words focus on the/o/ and /ou/ sounds in words like do and you and /y / at the end that says /i/ in words like my and try. The word work activity is on some of our spelling words and on long and short vowel sounds. In math we are working on strategies to help with adding and subtracting; one more, one less, adding and subtracting 0, doubles and making 10. We are also doing some work on word problems. Make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - Our annual Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser will kick off on Thursday January 30th. This will also be School Colours Day. This is our big fundraiser for the year to help support student activities.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on the long /i/ bossy /e/ vowel sound. The word work activity is on this as well and we continue to work on blends and beginning and ending sentences properly. In Math we have started working on mental math strategies to help with adding and subtracting. This week we are focusing on doubles and making ten. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Earth Rangers - We are excited to have the Earth Rangers visit our school this year. They will be here on Friday January 24th and bringing some animals with them. Their theme this year is the oceans.

No School - Just a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday January 27th, as it is a PLD for teachers.

Skating - Our next skating day is Tuesday February 4th, Ice time is 10:05 - 10:40AM. Please join us if you can.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. This is a review week for our spelling so we have 12 words that we already had before. More work is needed with blends so our word work activities focus on this, along with using some of the words to write sentences. In Math we are working on counting in different ways and showing or representing numbers in different ways. Make sure that you read your book each night and record it on your log sheet.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - For homework this week we have the grade 2 sight word list and reading. After being off for two weeks, students will need some extra practice with reading and sight words. Make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet. Go over the sight word list, highlight or circle the words you don't know and work on them throughout the week and during the rest of the year.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend!

Food Bank Drive - As part of our Spirit Week Challenge we will be doing a Food Bank drive during the week. Please bring in some items if you can.

Skating - Our Skating day is on Tuesday December 17th. The ice time is 10:05 - 10:40AM. Students will need their skates and a helmet. We do have some extras at the school, so let us know if you need to borrow them. Parents and grandparents please join us if you can.

Christmas Concert - Our annual Christmas Concert is on Wednesday December 18th at 9:00AM. The storm date is Thursday December 19th.

Homework - The students will have reading for homework this week. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spirit Week - Our second Spirit Week of the year is December 16 - December 20th. Monday - Food Bank Challenge starts.          Tuesday - Christmas Sweater/ Shirt Day; Wednesday - Christmas Concert Day; Thursday - School Colours Day; Friday - PJ/Athletic Wear Day.

Last Day Of School - Last day of classes is on Friday December 20th. It is a full day with dismissal at the regular time.

Library - Our library day is on Thursday. All books are due back today before the Christmas Break.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words focus on the /ee/ vowel sound and the word work activity is on this as well. In math we are working on place value, counting in different ways and counting with money. We are working on the organization trait in writing and finding out about a healthy lifestyle in You and Your World. The writing activity is on telling how you brush your teeth. Make sure you write each step and draw a picture to go with it. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Christmas Dinner - Our Christmas Dinner is on Wednesday December 11th. If you did not order the dinner, you will have to bring your lunch.

Christmas Shop - The annual Christmas Shop will be held on Wednesday December 11th. Students can bring some money to shop for their family.

Christmas Carolling - The K-2 classes will be going to Losier Hall Seniors Home to sing Christmas Carols on Friday December 13th at 10:00AM.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Thursday. Make sure you bring your book back, so you can sign out another one.

Skating - Our first skating day of the year is on Tuesday December 3rd. Students will need their skates and a helmet. We do have some extra ones at the school. Let me know if you need some. Our ice time is 10:05 - 10:40AM. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us if you can.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folder. Our spelling words this week focus on the long /a/ bossy /e/ vowel sound. The word work activity is on this as well. In writing we are working on the organization trait. Students need to tell in order how they get ready to go out and play in the snow. In math we are working on place value, counting with money, showing numbers in different ways and counting by 5s and 2s starting at 1. Make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

PJ Day - We are having a PJ/Athletic/Comfy Wear Day on Friday December 6th, as part of a district Literacy Challenge.
