Notes

As we enter our final week of home learning I hope you all know how much I have enjoyed every moment of this learning journey with you. The past few months have been different, difficult, and most definitely not what we wanted but somehow we've maintained connections and our genuine care and concern for one another has continued to grow. You have been a great group (families and kiddos) and I thank you for hanging in there and for all of your support along the way. As always, please feel free to reach out to me at chantal.poole@nbed.nb.ca Here is the link for the math activity this week: http://nelsonrural.nbed.nb.ca/mrs-sullivan-goguen/video/making-10-bowling-mrs-poole-mrs-sullivan-goguen

Take Care,

Hugs, Mrs. Poole

You can try some of these learning options. Ways to make 10, the weekly STEAM activities and the Camp Mathematician. Have fun!

Franklin has the same assignment as you did this week. He had to think about which part of his neighborhood/community was his favourite. Where did you choose? I love the movie theater and miss going there but even more than that I miss the school and seeing all of you!

Click this link to watch Mrs. Sullivan-Goguen read this adorable book. :)

See if you can solve my secret message. I have attached the ZOO-Phonics chart for you to use if you need it. Good luck :)

I hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed the lovely weekend. We are in week 8 of home learning and I hope you have developed a routine that works for you and are able to balance work and play time at home. It sounds like things are going well from our weekly chats. I encourage you to continue to read, write, practice your math skills and try some Nature Ninja and STEAM activities throughout the week. I have added some great websites for you to explore on our home learning document. As always, I love hearing from you. You can email me at: chantal.poole@nbed.nb.ca. Take care and have a great week! Hugs, I miss you.

It has been decided that we will have a yearbook after all. We are asking that you send any pictures you may have of "Home Learning" to the following link: http://www.hjeshare.com/eShare/?code=Nelson. Your pictures may possibly be included in our 2019-2020 yearbook. If you've already placed your order, thank you. If you would like to order one, the cost is $20. Please send me an email and I will add you to the list. The yearbook will be available in September. Thank you!

Mrs. Sullivan-Goguen created a word work activity that I thought you may like to try. Print your list of "ug" words if you'd like and send it to me. Have fun.

Parent Pick Up Day for K-2

On Tuesday May 5, you can come to the school to pick up your child's belongings between 9:00-12:00. **All items will be bagged, brought to the gym and placed according to level: K-2, 3-5, 6-8. Siblings will have bags together with oldest family member.

Wednesday May 6 is a possible day for pick up for those unable to come on their designated day.

Please Note: **parents will enter the front doors of the building, use hand sanitizer then proceed to the gym to pick up their child’s things. Parents will exit the gym through the elementary wing doors and exit the building through the Back door of the school. This will ensure a smooth flow and have limited parents crossing paths or meeting each other.
