Good morning,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was happy to see so many children trick-or-treating.

For home learning today, I suggest doing the following:

"September Read the Letters" page in your home learning packet as well as the "Fall Listen Up"

Click on the story links to listen to a story online.

Squiggle Park- Play for 10-15 minutes if you can.

Re-read your books from last week. Look for specific letters/words as you read today.

Review "Rock Star" sight words

Writing- Choose a topic to write about. Draw a picture with details about your topic. I have added a document that you can print to write today.

Math- Play the Cross Out Game. PLease keep it in the plastic sleeve so you can play it over and over.

Count to 100 with Jack Hartman

Have a great day! If you need anything at all reach out: chantal.poole@nbed.nb.ca

Please check for a memo today regarding our school fundraiser. Also, a reminder that tomorrow is "mis-matched" day for school spirit week! Today we all wore school colors. Way to go little Raiders!

Posted: October 20, 2021

Tuesday: Wear School Colors to show your school spirit!

Wednesday: Mismatch day! Go crazy...nothing has to match today :)

Thursday: Wear Orange and Black!

Friday: Crazy Hat/Hair Day OR costumes

Please do not send treats (cookies, cupcakes...) to school to share with the class. We will have a little celebration in our classroom. Fruit trays will be provided by the school.

Also...if you'd like to decorate a pumpkin at home for our school Pumpkin Contest, you can send in a short video or a photo of the pumpkin to our K-2 organizer Rebecca.hitchman@nbed.nb.ca. This is not something you have to do, just something extra if you have the time. We will be decorating a class pumpkin at school. Thank you. As always, questions can be sent to chantal.poole@nbed.nb.ca or call 627-4074

Happy Halloween Spirit week.

We are planning our trip to Fletcher's Farm on Thursday, Oct 21. We will be walking from the school to the farm and back so please monitor the weather and ensure your child is dressed appropriately. Please pack a lunch that doesn't require heating as we won't have access to a microwave at the farm. Thank You!

Tomorrow is “Take Me Outside Day” at school and we will be spending more time than usual outside. Please make sure your little one is dressed for the weather so they will be warm and comfortable. Thank you :)

Please make sure your child has a couple of extra masks in their book bag just incase the one they wear to school gets wet, dirty or breaks. Thank you in advance :)

Hi there! I am having a little problem with my pictures. As you can see, they are sideways. I am working on finding a way to fix the issue. I have a few more to post from Fun Friday but am waiting until I can post them properly. Thank you for your patience.

Hi there! I am so happy to welcome you to our Kindergarten page. This is where you will find information about our class and upcoming events. The children had a great first week. They spent a lot of time getting to know one another, playing, exploring our classroom, and easing into our routine. We also learned some classroom and playground rules. I look forward to an incredible year together. :)

Hi there! Today in your child's agenda you will see a letter pertaining to Dream Box. It tells you all the important information needed to access Dream Box at home. If you are using a browser, use this link: https://play.dreambox.com/login/knjs/8s78 and the Classroom Code: 51780. The children have been assigned a picture password and have already used it in the classroom. You will find this password taped inside your child's agenda cover. You need both of these to login in.

If you are using an iPad, you can visit the app store and download: "DreamBox Learning Math" or you can go to https://www.dreambox..com/ipad. When prompted in the app use the school code: knjs/8s78 and the classroom code: 51780 where your child can use their picture password. (This is taped inside your child's agenda)

We have all logged in and played on Dream Box. The children should be familiar with the site. They can play on it as often as they like. If your child needs help, just prompt or explain it to them please resist the urge to tell them the answer. If it is too difficult, just leave that game/skill for another time and move on to something they can do.

If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know. 627-4074

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We were blessed with lovely weather so I hope you all enjoyed some time outside ans some special time with your loved ones.

We will be learning some new poems about pumpkins this week so I hope you hear some singing at home. We will be working on rhyme and identifying words that rhyme. Please practice this at home, or while driving in your car, during bathtime, at bedtime...it's always fun to rhyme. :) In math we are exploring patterns. We are doing great at copying patterns so we will work on extending patterns and creating patterns of our own. Ask your child what they know about patterns.

Tomorrow I will be sending home a memo regarding home learning kits. The kits will be sent home on Thursday so you will have them prior to a school closure. We truly hope this will not be the case but it is important to be prepared. Please store your child's kit in a safe place, ready to use should we move to home learning.

We have a bag of apples waiting to be turned into apple sauce and will be making this yummy treat together. Some of my liitle ones say they don't like apple sauce but sometimes when you make it yourself it tastes better :) We'll see. ;)

This is going to be a very busy week for us. Please read below to see all the exciting things we will be doing together.

*We are learning about Fire Safety and will be taking part in a virtual Fire Prevention session on Thursday morning. Today we read a story that taught us many fire safety rules. We worked on how to "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and talked about the importance of smoke detectors. Please talk with your child about how to be safe at home.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 7 we are going to the Apple Orchard. Please pack a lunch for your child on Wednesday as we will be eating at the farm. Also, we will not have access to a microwave therefore do not send items to be heated. Please dress your child for the weather. Rubber boots are an excellent idea as they keep toes dry.

*This week is Disability Awareness week as well. We will be taking part in the "Walk and Roll" challenge to show our support for persons with disabilities.

*We are also getting ready for Thanksgiving and learning some poems that they will hopefully share with you over the weekend.

*Thanksgiving Dinner will be served on Thursday, Oct. 8. This will be the only meal served on that day. If your child is not getting the meal, they need to bring a lunch.

*There is no school on Monday, October 12. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend.
