Hi Everyone, I hope you had a good weekend and were able to stay warm! What a lot of snow! We are still having cold windchills, so make sure you bundle up and are dressed for the weather. Happy Flag Day Our Canadian flag turned 50 on Sunday February 15th. The Canadian flag is an important part of who we are and is recognized around the world. It is very unique because it is the only flag in the world that has a maple leaf on it. We have been learning all about our flag and how it was chosen. We all agree that it was a great choice! We couldn't imagine having any other flag. It makes us feel safe and proud! On Monday February 16th it will be Red and White Day at our school in honour of our flag. Phys. Ed Our Phys. Ed days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Library Our library day is on Wednesday. Don't forget your book! Spell-A-Thon Our Spell-A-Thon fundraiser is underway. We have been working on the words every day at school and the students are doing a great job with them. Just a reminder that pledge sheets are due back on February 17th and the Spell-A-Thon will be done on Wednesday February 18th. All money raised is used to support students activities. Thank you for your support with this fundraiser. Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words for the week are our Spell-A-Thon words, there are 20. Please make sure you are reading each night and recording your book on the log sheet. Use the strategies we have been working on to help with your reading. MathWe are working on our unit of Addition and Subtraction to 18. This week we are working on order in subtraction and how many more. We continue to work on our strategies. Keep working on them at home. Class Project With Texas Carson, Colby, Avery and Ally did a super job as the reporters and poetry readers this week. Our friends told us they were having spring like weather down there. A little different here! They couldn't believe the cold weather and snow we had. Have a wonderful week!
