Hi Everyone, It is hard to believe that we are into our last week of January. The temperatures have been a lot colder, especially the mornings. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.   Phys. Ed Our Phys. Ed days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.    Library We will go to the library on Wednesday. Please bring your book back, so you can take out another one.   Math We are working on our unit of Addition and Subtraction to 18. Last week we sent home some strategies and facts we are using in class. Please work on these at home. Keep counting in different ways.   Borrow-A-Book/Homework The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on more than one, adding s at the end. Please make sure that you read each night and record your book on the log sheet. Use your strategies to help with your reading.  Class Project With Texas We did our weekly report on Friday. It was good to see our friends again, as we were not able to meet last week. Nevaeh, Rileigh and Autumn did a wonderful job as the reporters and poetry readers. They have been having warmer temperatures there and a lot of rain. We talked about our gardens. There was 30cm of snow on ours and no snow on their garden.  Have a super week!

We had different Christmas activities we worked on. As well we did some reading, writing and art work with Christmas themes. The students designed and painted their own trees and decorated stockings. We read about caribou or reindeer and the students wrote facts about reindeer and made one too.

The students made their own Christmas cards with messages to our Canadian Soldiers. They worked together to pack boxes to send to some soldiers who would not be home for Christmas.
