Happy Monday everyone! It is our last week before the holidays! It is going to be a busy week of holiday activities, entrepreneurship fair and Christmas concert recording.
I will not be assigning any homework this week, however students can still go on Zorbit's Math or read on "Je lis" and "Boukili" if they would like. There is no need to log their reading this week. They will be bringing home a Christmas book on Tuesday that they can read over the holidays. *If you would like a couple books for your child to read over the Christmas Break, please leave me a note in the agenda*
Here is a snap shot of our week:
Monday: Music (They will be practicing their Christmas song)
Tuesday: Music & Phys.ed, Entrepreneurship Fair (list of products is posted below) I will be sending home a Christmas book that they can keep at home to read over the holiday.
Wednesday: Phys.ed, Christmas sweater/hat day, wrapping donations up for SPCA.
Thursday: Music (recording Christmas Song), School Colors day
Friday: Last day of classes before the holidays, PJ DAY!
Merry Christmas!

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Here is the homework for the week! This is a review week for sounds and sight words!

Lecture: Students will be bringing home their new book this week. They are to read 1-2 books every night. Students are to focus on the initial sound in each word and sounding out the word, looking for familiar sounds. Follow with your finger and look at the picture to help!

Les Sons: This week is a review week. Students are to go over the sound videos they have learned so far. I will also be sending home sound cards on Tuesday that they can use to flip through the sounds and do the action.

Les mots: A sheet is being sent home with all the sight words students have learned so far. These can be used as you would like. Cut up and used as flash cards, kept intact and trace with your finger. These can be kept at home for review.

Maths: The new task card is in the math wallet. Students are to complete the task this week and work on Zorbit Math as well. There will be a holiday Math game sent home on Tuesday that students can play with a family member. :)

Christmas Dinner - Our Christmas Dinner is on Thursday December 10th. Please note that the ham dinner is the only meal being served that day. If students did not order the meal, they will have to bring their lunch.

Christmas Shirt Day - We will have a Christmas Shirt/Sweater Day on Thursday December 10th. Students and staff are asked to make a $2.00 donation, with all proceeds going to the Food Bank. Thank you for your support with this project.

* Just a reminder that the days are getting colder so students are reminded to dress for the weather. Also, a reminder to students to bring a water bottle as the fountains are only used as fill up stations.

Have a great week everyone!

We have started to work on Christmas vocabulary, talking about different Christmas traditions that we may do at home, and will be writing Christmas letters to Santa tomorrow. ( I will also be sending a copy of their letter in their home folders as a keepsake)
If any families celebrate other traditions at home that are not related to Christmas, but would appreciate them to be discussed in class as well, please don't hesitate to email me or contact me, as all traditions are important.
Merci,

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the nice weather this weekend!

Here is the homework for the week:

Lecture: Students are to read 1-2 books each night this week. Please complete the reading logs each night so I can check them daily to see how they are doing and switch books out if need be. Students will also have a book to read called "Que fait un bon ami". (What makes a good friend)

Le Son: Students can listen to the sound poem and sing along with the song while doing the action. The sound is "IN" this week. Their sound words are also in their sheet protector.

Les Mots: Their new sight words are in their word wallets. They are to practice saying them aloud each night.

Math: The new math task is in their word wallets for the week. Students are to work on Zorbit Math as well.

Christmas: We will be practicing some Christmas songs in class, so I may put them up on my teacher page for students to practice at home. Also, our class will be collecting donations for the SPCA until December 14th.

Report Cards: First term report cards go home on Tuesday, December 1st.

Parent teacher interviews:  Parent Teacher interviews will be done either over the phone or on skype. A memo will be sent home Monday, November 30th for parents to choose the day/time that works best for them. Please fill the form out and return it on Tuesday or Wednesday so that a time can be set up. If I have checked off that I do not require an interview at this time, and you would still like one, by all means fill out the form. It just means that I don't require one as we may have been communicating already.

Thursday: Library: Please return all books in order to check out new ones.

Friday: No school for students. Parent/teacher phone\skype interviews will be done in the morning and the afternoon is a PLD for teachers.

Christmas Dinner: If students would like the Christmas Dinner, pre-orders were sent home and must be returned by Thursday, December 3rd. The cost for students will be $4.00 and the school will pay the remaining $3.00 cost.

* Just a reminder that the days are getting colder so students are reminded to dress for the weather. :)

Have a great week Raiders!
