Each week, we use our weekly message to review our words and sound of the week. If possible, please print the following message and have your child complete the following. If you do not have access to a printer, please just have your child read the message, find the words, print them onto a peice of loose-leaf paper (no need to copy the whole message, just the words):

1. find and highlight the words of the week in the message;

2. choose a different colour highlighter and highlight the words that contain the sound of the week (u);

3. print the words of the week;

4. print three words that contain the sound of the week.

Our sound of the week is "u". Please play the following song for your child (a few times), and have them do the action (make a semi-cirle back and forth using their right fist) along with the song.

Find the "u" sound worksheet in the home learning packet, and have your child colour the pictures and words that contain the "u" sound. They do these sheets in class so they should know what to do. If you are unsure if they of some of the words/pictures, please use Google Translate. I have also attached the anwer key so you can help if needed.

Good Monday morning, families! Please take some time to look through the Virtual Classroom file. I think you'll find it a helpful tool in structuring your child's day during home-learning. I will be communicating more specific assignments, but this is a good place to start. Happy learning, and I hope to see all your kiddos again really soon :)

Listening to French songs is a great at-home activity. Here are some of the songs and videos we've been enjoying in class. I will continue to add to this list throughout the year. As well, a google search for Alain Le Lait, or Mini TFO, will bring up a tonne of fun french songs.

Bonjour, Bonjour! - alain le lait (French greetings) - Bing video

Apprendre le français/Chanson pour enfants/Bonjour mes amis/French song for kids - Bing video

French numbers 1-100 - Bing video

French Numbers Song 1-100 | Nombres en Français Chanson: Compter jusqu'à 100 - YouTube

Chanson : L'automne est arrivé - Bing video

Mini Automne - Épisode 1 - Bing video

Happy listening, signing, and dancing :)

Homework for this week is as follows:

Read every evening. Students may read their book from school, or choose a book from Je Lis Je Lis (https://jelis.rkpublishing.com/student/). Login information can be found in your home learning binder.

Sight words: please practice your child's words in their pochette de mots every evening.

Math: Gather small objects from around the house. Count the number of objects and arrange them into groups of 10. Count the groups of ten plus the remaining objects and record the result as a 2-digit numeral. Example: I have two groups of 10 LEGO blocks, plus three LEGO blocks left over. I have 23 LEGO blocks all together.

Students may also play Zorbits Math Adventure (https://www.zorbitsmath.com/). Login information is taped to the inside of their agenda, and also in their home learning binders.
