Happy Sunday!! We have a very fun week ahead of us with lots to celebrate and do.

Literacy- Please read your Borrow-A-Books each night. We have  3 books this week. Two books are levelled readers and one is a paper copy sight word book, "Who Do You Love?".The children have coloured and read this book in class.Be sure to read at least 1 or 2 of your 3 books each night. Read the ABC Letter Tracing Book, until your child knows all letters and sounds. As students read their three books, have them point to each word and stop at the period.Use the pictures for cues to help identify the words. Students should be recognizing some familiar sight words from list 1 and 2. Please remember to fill in the reading log each night and have your child print their name.Return all books, even the student coloured books to class. The children use these books in their Read-to Self book bags. Please return books in the borrow-a-book bag,on Friday. Thanks!

Rock Star Words- Review your word list this week. When your child knows all words quickly. Please sign the sheet and return it to class. I will test your childs knowledge and send the next list home. Don't worry if your child does not have a word list yet. We are reviewing words daily in class and once your child consistently recognizes a few words in print, I will send a list home with them.

Math- Play Valentine Roll and Cover this week. The sheet goes home Monday. The children have had fun playing the game in class. The game is for 2 players, each player takes turns rolling the dice and cover that same number heart on their side of the sheet. The first player to cover all their hearts wins. Have fun!!

Library- We visit the library on Thursday.Return your book so you can sign out a new one.Keep your book for the week and return it the following Thursday in the library bag.If you forget the  book, please send it in the next day and I will send home the new book.Happy Reading!

Phys. Ed. Classes - We have gym classes every Tuesday,Thursday and Friday. Please dress in comfortable clothes, ready to run, play and have fun.On nice days Mrs. Dickson has been taking the children outside for gym. Please pack an extra pair of gloves\mittens, socks.

Happy Valentine's Day- We will be celebrating this special day in class on Tuesday the 14th. The children will be exchanging valentines with their classmates. Please wear red \pink.I would love for the children to print their own valentines. I have attached the class list. The school will be providing a health snack (veggie & fruit trays) for each class so no need to send in any treats. If you have a treat for the students please remember we are a peanut\nut free school, as well, we have a classmate with a severe dairy allergie. Thank you for your consideration and have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones.

The Numer-action test\active day is on Friday the 17th.We have been playing games and reviewing our facts in class. Good luck, Kinders!!
