Create a time capsule for your future family members to use as a primary source in a future project like a heritage fair project.
Decorate a box to keep everything in.
Start collecting ie: newspaper articles, pictures, journals, school-work, artwork, home videos, personal documentaries etc.

Newsela is a data base of current events stories tailor-made for classroom use. I have been using this site in my classroom for several years now and they have generously opened to the public, free of charge until the end of the school year.
