Hi there! I hope you had a super fun weekend and are ready for a full week at school. Here's what is happening this week in Kindergarten:
Read your Borrow-A-Book- Read and be read to each night. We have three books this week. One is a student reader on How we can help the Earth. As you read; look at the pictures to know what is going on in the story, say the beginning letter sound and sound out all letters in an unknown word, identify sight words you know. It is very important for the children to read 1 or 2 books each night and please remember to record the book title and have your child print their name on the reading log.Keep the books for the week and return on Friday.
Rock Star Sight Words- Continue to review and print your sight words this week.We have been reviewing the word list daily and are focused on spelling the words from the list. Please continue to work on this, as you practice your sight words.Once you know the words quickly, sign and return it to class and I will check your knowledge and send home the next sheet.
Library- Tuesday is our library day,be sure to pack your book,so you will be able to sign out a new book for the week.
Phys.Ed.-We have gym classes on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday this week.Wear your comfy clothes.
Math- We are learning about the number 8 and the different number combinations for 8. This week in class we will play the card game "Exactly 8". Try the game at home this week. The rules of the game are attached. Have fun!!
Outside-It is still s little chilly in the mornings and we do go outside when the students arrive. So please wear a hat, mitts and warm coat, plus your rubber\winter boots.
Don't forget to pack your water bottle daily.
Have a fantastic week at school!! Smile, be happy and kind to each other!!! Take Care, Kinders!
