1. I have sent home learning packets home with all 3 classes. They contain a letter explaining the contents.
2. It is important that students read and record on a nightly bases. This is all the homework they have had for me to date so when I start giving assignments based on their reading it should already be done. They have been assigned 2-4 picture books, a graphic novel and a realistic fiction. We will start working with these books early next week.
3. We will be going to Fletcher's Farm in the morning so dress for the weather. Perhaps layers would be a good idea. Don't forget to pack a good snack and lots of water because it is a good walk and they usually play hard while there.

Welcome back to the 21-22 School Year! I am very excited to be working with all the children I have taught before and all the new students to our school. I hope that this will be a year filled with learning, fun and new memories for each and every student I have the privilege to teach and encounter here at Nelson Rural this year.

I will be using a FB platform this year to share info and news from my classes please watch for a note to come home tomorrow.

If your child is staying home due to the heat they should have their binder with them so they will have work to keep them busy. Everything in their binder is practice and review so they should have no problem completing anything on their own. They should also read for 30 min and take time to record in their reading log if they have it at home with them. If not they could write an entry on loose leaf. What were the strongest emotions you were feeling as you read today? What in the reading caused you to feel this way?

Students started writing their own treaties today and are o finish the draft. This is basically a contract between themselves and someone at home. They will eventually be asking the second party to sign the treaty so it is meant to be taken seriously and to be agreeable.
