No School Wednesday, November 11th   8H-8M Language Arts 1. Read for Book Report due Nov. 26th 2. Have information sheets (War and Remembrance unit) completed   8H-8M Social Studies 1. (8H) complete p. 13 q. 1-5 for Thursday (began in class today) 2. (8M) Don't forget essay is due next class!   7H-7M Language Arts 1. Review subject /predicate 2. Read your novel   7M Social Studies 1. Presentation of projects on Thursday  (no one came in to work at noon or after school (on computers) so I assume that everyone has their project ready)

Remembrance Ceremony tomorrow morning @10 am Students wear red for Tuesday!   8H-8M Language Arts 1. Have all information sheets completed for Thursday 2. Book Report due November 26th (outline given today in notebooks)   8H-8M Social Studies 1. (8M) Answer question about aerial photo vs. map 2. Both classes have essay on "How I will use what I've learned in Soc.St. in my life"     Due date: next class!   7H-7M Language Arts 1. Go over notes on subject and predicate 2. Read   7M Social Studies 1. All questions on "Disempowerment" must be answered in notebooks (we corrected these today) 2. Projects will be presented on Thursday. Students needing to use a school computer to complete     thuis assignment should be in at noon on Tuesday with Mrs.Hawkes

Have all language skills sheets completed (all were assigned over time-daily notebook)     -be prepared to use them for a review of skills before the unit test next week !

Report cards were sent home today!  :) Grade 8H students have a Reflection sheet to be completed and returned for Wednesday.   8H-8M Language Arts 1. Writing envelopes to be returned signed 2. Business letter (Better copy) for Wed (8H)                              (Final copy) for Wed. (8M) if not already passed in.   8H-8M Social Studies 1. Work on Street maps (text) to be completed 2. (8H) Essay due Friday (approx. 1 page) "How what I learn in Soc. St. will be                                                                          important in my life." 3. Final copy of poem to be completed in computer lab tomorrow.   7H-7M Language Arts 1. Final copy of poem to be completed in computer lab (Wed.) 2. Have homonym work ready to check (see packet)

Grade 8H-8M have brought samples of their writing home tonight.  There is a Writing Rubric Information package in each envelope. Parents are asked to go over the writing examples, and the rubric, to familiarize themselves with "how" writing is being scored. Varsity Girls' Soccer Jamboree all day Wednesday at Dr. Losier School.              Good Luck girls!   7H-7M Language Arts 1. Complete and review Lesson 33 (linking verbs) and Lesson 35 (verb phrases) 2. This is information to be studied, memorized!                   :(   First day of SNOW!!!  :)   H1N1 vaccinations on Tuesday, Oct.27th   7H-7M Language Arts 1. Review the sheets on complete subjects and predicates of a sentence. 2. Read your novel at least 40 min. over the week-end.   8H-8M Language Arts 1. Prepare some ideas to share with your partner on Monday. Your found     poems will be completed on Monday in class!   8H-8M Social Studies 1. (8H) Complete Questions 1,2,3 on p.11 2. Both classes be prepared for a quiz!

H1N1 vaccination permission must be in Friday, Oct.23rd!   8H,8M,7H Social Studies 1. Have a one-page summary of facts, ideas, thoughts, and questions that come to mind after the     "One World-One Community" presentation today. (This is pre-writing for an assignment to      be given next week)   7 Language Arts 1. Complete the lesson 12 activity on subject and predicate. 2. Read!   8H-8M Language Arts 1. Rer-ead the selection on "Autumn", and come to class tomorrow with some ideas for a found poem    based on this selection.
