Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend! We have had some great weather. It is still a little cool in the mornings, so please make sure you are dressed for the weather. We are back to a five day week!
Phys.Ed
Our Phys.Ed days are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Credit Union
School Credit Union Day is on Tuesday October 22, 2013.
Library
Library day is on Friday. Remember to bring your book back.
Math
We are working on a unit with numbers to 100. Keep counting in different ways by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s. We are also working on odd and even numbers. Next up is counting with money. You can practice at home.
Borrow-A-Book
Please make sure you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet.

Our school participated in Wellness Week during the first week of October. The students had fun with School Colours Day and Fun Fitness Friday!

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your days off and had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
Phys. Ed

Library
We have library on Friday. Remember to bring in your book so you can sign out another one.
Math
Keep working on counting in different ways, by 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s. We have been working on using a number line and a 100 chart to count in different ways. Odd and even numbers are next.

Please make sure that you are reading each night and recoring your book on the log sheet. Remember to use the strategies we have been working on to help with your reading.
Scholastic Book Club
Book orders are due on Friday October 18th.
Class Project With Texas
Once again we are partnering with a Grade 2 class at St. John's School in Dallas, Texas. Last week we Skyped with them and the students introduced themselves to their buddies. We have exchanged class letters of introdution. This week we will work on a shared writing telling them about Thanksgiving in Canada. As well we will plant our tulip garden and start our weekly live reports. Stay tuned for pictures and more details.

The students painted leaves, pumpkins, apples and acorns for the bulletin board display. For Thanksgiving they wrote about all the things they are thankful for. They used pastels to create a fall scene. Super work Grade 2!

In September we talked about and read stories about Terry Fox. The students found out about Terry and the amazing thing he did. They discovered how one person can make a difference and bring about change. They each came up with a word they would use to describe Terry Fox.
