 Hi Everyone,  I hope you had a good weekend! It was a chilly one. The days are definitely getting colder. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather: warmer jackets, boots, hats and mittens.      Phys. Ed  Our Phys.Ed days with Mr. Fitzpatrick are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.        Play With Your Food Art Show  Our Play With Your Food Art Show was a great success. The grade 2 and 3 students did an awesome job creating their characters. They are in the process now of writing the story about their character. Thanks again to parents for their help with this project.    Math  Keep working on counting forward and backwards in different ways. We are working on 10s and 1s and place value.      Borrow - A- Book  Please make sure that you are reading your book each night and recording it on the log sheet. Remember to use the strategies we have been working on to help with unknown words.    Food Drive  Just a reminder that we are still collecting items for the Food Bank. Please bring in what you can.      Project With Texas  The students have been enjoying the activities we have been doing with our friends in Texas. They have been doing a great job with the weekly reports and poetry reading. Our friends will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday and they are off for most of the week. We are hoping to connect with them on Monday.    Have a wonderful week!

 Hi Everyone,  I hope you enjoyed the beautiful sunny weekend. Just a reminder to make sure that you are dressed for the weather. The mornings are chilly.    Phys.Ed  Our Phys.Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.        Play With Your Food Art Show  The Grade 2 & 3 classes will be having our Play With Your Food Art Show on Wednesday November 20th.  Please bring your characters to school on Wednesday morning. Remember that they can only be made the night before. We will be sending home the black eyed peas and toothpicks with students on Tuesday. Check the image galleries on the school website for pictures of last years show.                                                          Food Bank    Just a reminder that we are still collecting items each week for the Food Bank. Please bring in what you can.        Class Project With Texas  We have been doing our weekly reports and the students are doing a great job with the weather and class reports and the poetry reading. They are excited to talk with their friends each week.       Math  In our unit on Numbers to 100, we have been working on estimation, next up is 10s and 1s.       Borrow -A-Book  Remember to read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.      Colombian Day  Thursday November 21st is Colombian Day at our school. Students are asked to wear red, yellow and blue.       Credit Union  School Credit Union Day is on Tuesday November 19th.      Reports and Parent Teacher  Just a reminder that reports go home on Tuesday.  Parent Teacher will be on Thursday November 21st from 4-6 PM and on Friday November 22nd from 9-11:30 AM.   There is no school for students on Friday.     Have a super week!

 Hi Everyone,  I hope you were able to take some time out today to remember all those who gave their lives, and who continue to serve our country. We should never forget.      Dress For The Weather  The cold weather is now here and we have had our first few snowflakes. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather as we will be going outside to play. Hats, mittens, gloves and heavier jackets are needed.      Phys.Ed  Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday and Wednesday.        Math  Keep working on counting in different ways and with money. We are working on estimation now.      Scholastic Book Order  If you would like to order a book, order forms are due back on Friday November 15th.        Borrow-A-Book  Make sure you are reading each night and recording your book on the log sheet. You should be using your strategies to help with unknown words.    Have a great week!

We have been reading, writing and working on art projects all related to Remembrance Day.  The students told what the poppy means to them and they wrote about why it is important to have Remembrance Day and why we must never forget.

 Hi Everyone,  Hope you had a good weekend! Just a reminder that the days are getting colder. We do go outside, weather permitting. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather, hats, mitts and heavier jackets.        Remembrance Day Service  Our school Remembrance Day Service is on Friday November 8th at 10:00am. Please join us if you can.        Skating  Our first skating day of the year is on Thursday November 7th. The ice time is from 10:25-11:05. Students must have skates and helmets to go on the ice. We have extra skates at the school, so you can check with us for sizes. Parents are welcome to join us at this time. Hope to see you there.      K-2 Parent Literacy Night  The K-2 teachers will be hosting a Literacy Night for parents on Thursday November 7th from 6:30-7:30pm. Come and join us to find out what the K-2 literacy program is all about and to get some tips to help your child with reading at home.    Phys. Ed   Students have Phys.Ed with Mr. Fitzpatrick on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.        Library  Our library day is on Friday, Make sure you bring your book back, so you can get another one.      Math  We have been working on counting with money. Keep working on this at home. Now we will be working with ordinal numbers and estimation. Remember to continue counting in different ways.      Borrow-A-Book  It is very important that students continue to read each night and record their book on the log sheet. We have been working on different strategies to help figure out unknown words. Please remember to use these when you are reading.    Our Project With Texas  The students are very excited to be working with our partner class in Texas. This is the 8th year that our school has partnered with St. John's Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas. We had two live weekly reports so far. For the first one, Alex, Evan and Garret were our reporters and poetry reader. Last week, Ava, Ben and Noah did the job. Super work boys and girls. We have also sent our shared writing about Thanksgiving In Canada and our friends in Texas had their Play With Your Food Art Show. We will be doing our show later this month.
