Hi Everyone!  I hope you had a good weekend. We had more snow over the weekend, so please make sure you are dressed for the weather.      Phys. Ed  Our Phys.Ed days are Monday and Wednesday.          Library  Our library day is on Wednesday. Remember to bring your book back.      100th Day Of School   We celebrated our 100th Day of School on Friday. It was an exciting day with lots of activities around the number 100. The K-2 students made a 100 Day Quilt, which looks great! We also did 100 exercises and collected 100 items for the Food Bank. In our class we read 100 books and asked questions to guess what each student brought for their 100th Day Collections. We still have other activities to do.    Math  We are still working on our unit of addition and subtraction. Please make sure you are working on your facts and strategies.      Borrow-A-Book  It is very important that you read your book each night and record it on your log sheet. Remember to use your strategies to help with unknown words and the check for understanding strategy to help with comprehension.    Project with Texas  We did not have our report last week. We checked on our tulip garden this week. There was 19cm of snow on the garden and no tulips growing.      School Credit Union Day  Our school Credit Union day is on Tuesday February 19th.        Math Games  Math games will go home on Monday and are due back on Wednesday. Have fun playing the games with your family.      Have a great week!

Hi Everyone,  Hope you enjoyed the weekend! It looks like we are in for 6 more weeks of winter here. The groundhog closest to us, Shubenacadie Sam did see his shadow. Our class poll had most people hoping for an early spring. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.    Phys. Ed  Our Phys. Ed days are on Moday and Wednesday.        Library  Our library day is on Wednesday. Remember to bring your book back.    Math  Keep working on your facts and strategies. This will help with your mental math skills. This week we are working on finding the missing number with addition and subtraction.      Class Project With Texas  Avery, Evan W. and Logan, did a super job as the reporters and poetry reader this week. They were surprised to find out that we were warmer than them on Thursday. Their 100th Day of School is in 3 more days. Our 100th Day of School is in 10 more days. We are going to find out how each class celebrates the 100th Day Of School.    Borrow-A-Book  Remember to read your book each night and record it on the log sheet. Try to use the check for understanding strategy to help with comprehension.    Math Games At Home  Starting this Monday, we will be sending home a Math game with the students. These games are for them to play at home with their family. The games are to be returned on Wednesday. It is a great way to work on math skills and have some fun. This will continue for the month of February.    Have a super week!

Hi Everyone,  I hope you enjoyed the weekend! It was nice to see warmer temperatures. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.        Phys.Ed  Our Phys.Ed days are on Monday and Wednesday.        Library  We have library on Wednesday. Remember to bring your book back.    Math  Make sure you keep working on your facts and strategies at home. This week we are working on equal and unequal and order in addition.      Jersey Day  Friday February 1, is Jersey Day. This is in honour of the Pond Hockey Tournament. Wear your favourite team jersey to school.      Class Project With Texas  Great news! We connected with our friends last week! It was great to see and hear them. Karley, Makyla and Austin did a great job as the reporters and poetry reader. While we were in the deep freeze last week with the cold temperatures, they were up to 23C on one day. They told us they planted their tulips on January 10th.    Borrow-A-Book  Just a reminder to make sure that you are reading every night and record your book on your log sheet. One strategy we have been working on is check for understanding. After each page tell who and what. Who did I read about and what was happening.    Have a great week!
