On Friday we met our buddies in grade 6D. We worked together to clean up the school playground and got to know one another. It was a great success! We can't wait to meet up with our buddies again!!

Here are some important reminders and updates for our class!

Halloween Treats: please note that our school is a nut free school. It is important that you check the snacks the students are bringing, to ensure they are not taking anything with them that contain nuts.

Lunch Orders: friendly reminder when a student is ordering their lunch, I would ask that you write down what the student would like to have, put the money and their order in a baggie and place the bag in the child's agenda or 'bring back' 'take home' folder. Thank you!

Homework: please continue to read one levelled book each night and log the book you read. Sight words are to be practiced daily, when students can read the sight words quicky, please sign the sheet and return it to school. My ABC book, letter tracing, please make sure you are tracing the letters with your finger. Focus on the letters that the student does not know at first. When students are confident with naming the letters and the sounds consistently, please let me know. Continue to play one math game each night. I would ask that you make sure to return the levelled books on Friday of each week.

  • It is important to send the agenda and 'bring back' 'keep home' folder to school each day. The homework folder (sight words/letter tracing) and math games can stay at home during the week if you wish.

Math Games: new math games will be sent home next week. These games will focus on concepts we are working on now.

Water Bottles: please bring a water bottle each day.

Have a great week grade 1!

The students did a fantastic job working together to create our class pumpkin, the silly monster! Great job grade 1! I'd say it is a pretty cute, silly monster!!

We had lots of little teachers in the building on Thursday! Some of the students  were Phys. Ed teachers, Mr. Fitzpatrick and Ms. Sullivan. Great job grade 1! I have to apologize again, I only got a picture later in the day, after the students were at Phys.Ed.

Crazy hair and crazy sock day was a success! I have to apologize.. I did not get a picture in the morning and missed some of the wonderful 'crazy' hairdos. They were adorable!
