I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We have a short week as Friday is a PD for teachers, and there is no School next Monday as it is Remembrance Day.
Just a reminder that our Grade 2 classes have skating when they return on Tuesday November 13th at 10am.

I hope you all had a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend! The weather was beautiful and the colours of the autumn leaves are in full bloom! It is a short week, so homework will be going home tomorrow (Tuesday).

Wow!! It is already October! It is hard to believe September is over already.
Thanksgiving is approaching and there is a lot to be thankful for! Just a reminder that there is no school next Monday, October 8th because of the holiday.

I have added a sound sheet that I will be sending home weekly as a review of sounds learned last year.

Thursday: We will be going to Fletcher's Farm as we were rained out last Friday. (Weather permitting)
As the weather is getting colder and rainy, students are reminded to dress accordingly.

Just a few weekly reminders:
Tuesday:
- Bus Evacuation procedures

Thursday:
- Terry Fox Walk at 1pm (small monetary donation is accepted)
Friday:
- I Care Cat assembly after the walk (k-2 students only)
- Orange Shirt day (wear something orange if you can)
- Fletcher's Farm\corn maze for grade 2FI\5 classes

Homework sheets are due back on Friday, however they can be sent back earlier if completed.
Read leveled book 2-3 times aloud - Students may also have a browsing book to look at at their leisure.
5 Sight words- Can they say them right away? Underline the words you don’t know and keep working on them. Return the sheet on Friday for a mini-quiz on the 5 words.
- I have also included a bag of magnetic letters that will be sent home to one student each night. They are to make the words with the letters to help recognize the word.
Math: Any math sheets not completed in class will be sent home, or a sheet may be sent home to reinforce a concept taught in class.
* Homework sheets are in home folders each week.
** A student may have a guided reading activity sheet sent home to colour or complete.

Math: Finish the AB, ABC pattern sheet for Pete the cat. Return when finished, or by Friday.
Coloriage: Students are to look at the legend and match the correct sound with the word and colour that word the corresponding colour. Due on Friday
