Hi Everyone!We are learning from home today.
Literacy-
Please read your Halloween books,pointing to each word as you read, look at the pictures, as well as the beginning letter sound to help figure out an unknown word.
In your Home Learning packet that was sent home- September letters page- read each letter as fast as you can. Circle any letter you do not know. Then start again , say each letter sound, circle any letter sound you do not know.
Math- Play the monster math dice game- see documents page. If you can't copy the sheet. Help your make a game board, they can draw a monster, practice making the the numbers 1-6 on the page and then use the dice from the home learning kit and have fun playing.
Starfall- Check out this awesome site,we love visiting Starfall in class. We are working on the letter Ee and you can play the Halloween pumpkin decorating game. Welcome to Starfall PreK & Kindergarten
Today was costume day and I was eager to see you dressed in your costumes.So please send me a picture when you are all dressed up on Halloween. I would love to see my little Kinders.

The children decided they wanted to decorate our pumpkin instead of carving it. First we had to scoop it out. They were really glad to have a big spoon to scoop with, most didn't want to use their hands, they found the inside too...

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a very busy week in Kindergarten!
This is School Spirit Week-So get ready to show your Raiders Spirit, Kinders! The class with the best participation recieves the Raiders Helmet. So show your school pride and get dressed up this week. It should be a lot of fun! Tuesday,Oct.26- School Colours Day, Wednesday, Oct.27-Mismatch Day, Thursday, Oct.28-Orange & Black Day-and Sibling & Picture retakes. Friday, Oct.28-Crazy Hair\Hat or Costume Day.
School Clothing Orders -Are due Monday October 25th , place your order at River Signs

Borrow-A-Book- This week, students will read the "My ABC letter tracing book", please note any letters your child may be having trouble recognizing, forming or identifying letter\ sounds and continue to focus on these letters.We are reviewing letters\sounds daily in class.Students also have 3 books to read; I Like Fall,I See Halloween and Halloween Counting. Students point to each word as they read, look at the pictures, as well as the beginning letter sound to help figure out an unknown word. Please read 1 or 2 books each night and fill in the reading log, have students print their own name.Return your borrow-a-books to class on Friday.
Library- We go to the library on Tuesday.Please return your book in the library bag, so you will be able to sign out a new book. Students keep this book home for the week.Thanks!!
School Fundraising Campaign Kick off-On Tuesday October 26th, we will kick off our Liter-Action fundraiser. The fundraising packs will be going home with the students. Please read the information carefully.Your support is greatly appreciated as this is our only school fundraiser.
Phys.Ed.-Classes are every Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday.Mrs. Comeau is continuing with outdoor gym classes so please dress for the cooler weather.
Pumpkin Carving Contest- Students can carve a pumpkin at home and email a picture to Mme. Hitchman by Wednesday October 27th. rebecca.hitchman@nbed.nb.ca
Halloween-We will be celebrating Halloween in class on Friday,Oct 28th. Students can wear their costume to school, no mask or accessories. We will be having a healthy treat,veggie & fruit trays so please do not send in treats.
Don't forget to pack your water bottle and extra clean mask.
As you can see we have a week of fun planned at school. Happy Halloween everyone!! Have a safe and fun evening of trick or treating.
