Halloween is approaching. We have been counting the number of sleeps left! We are down to 4 more sleeps now!!!! :) The children are very excited and have been learning new poems, songs and making crafts related to Halloween and fall. We will also be talking about Halloween Safety. I hope you have a fun time "Trick-or- Treating"!

These are some of the Art projects we worked on this fall. Our "Francy Fish" finger paintings were sooo beautiful! I am in the process of putting them on a black background to take home. This artwork is worthy of a frame! I just loved them!

Each morning we practice our reading, letters, and words during Daily 5 time. We have worked on two parts of the daily five so far, "Read to Self" and "Word Work". When we do "Read to Self" we read a book independently for a given amount of time. During "Word Work", we practice reading and writing...
Just before Thanksgiving weekend our dear friend Rose came in to bake apple pies with us. We used apples that we picked at the orchard the day before. We sat together and had apple pie, apple juice and vanilla ice-cream. What a yummy treat! We think that Rose is "the best" pie maker lady EVER!!!...

Earlier this month, the Kindergarten classes went on a trip to the Apple orchard at McAllister's Farm. We had a fantastic trip and learned a lot. We enjoyed picking the apples and most of all....tasting them! We had fun on the hayride and watching the cows munch on the apples. Tasting the grapes was a new experience for everyone- especially when we saw what happened to our tongues! :) We were allowed to choose a pumpkin for our class as well. Thank you McAllister farm! We picked apples to bring back to our school. We filled 4 baskets within minutes!!!! After the hayride and posing for class pictures, we had our lunch in the big barn. What a great day!
We had a wonderful trip to McAllister's Farm! We went on a tour of the orchard and learned a lot about how apples grow and how the apple farmers take care of them. We got to taste the delicious apples and pick our very own! We also got to try some of the grapes they grow there. That was so fun...
