Our Book Fair begins on Monday. Children can purchase books until Wednesday at noon.

We will be attending the Beauty and the Beast play at JMH on Wednesday morning. We are asking for a $2 donation from the children to help cover the costs. This should be a wonderful experience for our students.

Earth Day!

Saturday, April 22 is Earth Day. I LOVE this day and really enjoy teaching my students ways they can make a difference and help them to deepen their interest/curiousity/passion/love for this wonderful planet of ours. We will be celebrating Earth Day at school on April 21. In honour of Earth day, we are hoping that the children will wear blue and green- if they can. We are also having a litterless lunch to reduce the amount of garbage we throw away. We have a presentation scheduled tomorrow afternoon from the Northumberland Solid Waste commission. The presentation will help the children gain more knowledge about our recycling programme in Miramichi and show them other ways they can help the planet. I have already noticed many "Earth Helpers" outside on the playground when I'm on duty. Way to go Nelson Kiddos!

We have started learning about measuring and comparing the length of objects to determine which is longer/shorter. We compared our heights and today we looked at the lengths of various snakes-paper ones of course:) The children discovered that the longest snake- the python- is 6 Kindergarten...
