Hi everyone. I hope you are doing well. Since home learning is still on- I would like for you to visit the Teams site for music class. I activated the team and put some information under Class Materials for you to look over. Message me if you have any questions or have trouble accessing material. Enjoy your weekend.

This year we are unable to present our annual Remembrance Day ceremony. We encourage you however, to take time on November 11th to remember those brave Canadians who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. Please keep in your thoughts, those who served our country and those currently serving to protect our great nation.

In Honor of Their Names    “… Let’s not forget our fallen friends; whatever place they lay and

make in honor of their names, each day- Remembrance Day.”

At 11:00 am on Remembrance Day maybe we could all pause for a minute of silence…………to remember.

French- Good news for those of you who did a practice run of your presentation "Un auto des années ___"... They were so well done -I am considering this part of the assignment as "un fait accompli". You will not need to present this material upon our return to in-class learning. You can now focus on completing the diagram of interior and exterior features. Be sure to mention any characteristics unique to your vehicule. For instance; with my truck, I would definitely mention the "coffre intégré" the (in bed trunk). Our next class meeting is not until Tuesday-this gives the rest of you plenty of time to prepare for the oral presentation.

Grade 8B and 8M Music classes- Those of you who have guitars at home- I have already sent you the lyrics/chord sheets with accompaniment. Keep on practicing. No guitar?-No problem!  Go over the vocal parts.

Grade 7-8 M- Be watching for a message on Teams regarding our upcoming events.

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay safe!

FOR YOUR INFORMATION-  I have already sent a copy of our guitar songs with my piano accompaniment to a few members of each class. Message me on Teams or email if you would like to have this for home practice. Just Imagine- you could have an original recording/performance by M.O.D. That will be worth money some day. I can guarantee it!!

Here is one of our class favorites.

Remembrance Day is coming-you could maybe go over O Canada in English and French as well as God Save the Queen. You can find these on youtube (with parent supervision). If we are out for an extended period of time- (which I hope not) I will arrange to send to you, the accompaniment we use in class. During the Act of Remembrance-you are also responsible to learn one verse from the poem "For the Fallen" we recite this following the minute of silence in the following order:

Stand for playing of the Last Post-Minute of Silence -Poem Recitation and playing of the Reveille

"They shall grow not old-as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them; nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them."

Hello Grade 8 Bosma: I trust you are well today. Just a note to inform IF we go to Home Learning format- you are responsible for keeping up with work for French class. Please be checking this page as well as the Team Page I have set up for instructions regarding the assignment "Mon Auto". You should be able to access your car diagram (exterior and interior) from home. Message me on our Team page if you need any help with vocabulary. I am always available to help.

Grade7/8M and Gr. 8B Music- If any of you want the chord sheets for home practice-let me know.

Have a good day everyone. We hope to see you next week.

Reminder -We will be having a playing test during music classes on Monday Oct. 4th and Wednesday Oct. 6th. You are responsible for the following chords: D+   b-6    G+ and A+. Nothing to panic over- you can play with your Music Stand groupings of three people. Think of proper holding position- correct fingerings and be sure to use correct number of strings when strumming each of the chords. We have already played these chords last year- I am looking forward to hearing an improved clarity of sound. Also- it might be a good idea to clip those nails on the left hand! Fingers 1-2-3 (index-third and ring finger).

Great job on your guitar playing/vocals today. Still need to find time for Gr. 8B to record in the music room. Might have to be on Friday morning. Once all recordings are finished-I will combine them all into one highlight video. Keep checking back next week for that!  Have a great evening everyone.
