Read a piece of non-fiction (paragraph is sufficient) and report orally to class tomorrow.  Cursive Writing - f, p Math - (only for those who didn't finish) 4a, 5a, 6 a-c, 7 a-c, 8 a-b Highlighter Magazine Forms (if interested) Book Orders Due today Math requizzes will go home tomorrow.    Event "All Kids Are Our Kids: The Teenage Brain Under Construction" tonight, JMH Theatre, 6pm-8pm

Night of the Arts Practices Are Changed to Wednesdays, until 4:15 p.m.    Reading - read AR book as students will be asked questions about their books in class tomorrow Math - expanded form matching/memory game 1. cut out cards 2. place cards upside down on floor or table 3. turn over two cards at a time; if they match, put them aside; if they don't match, turn them over and try again 4. try to find all matching pairs   Cursive Writing - r, s (1 page)   H1N1 Notice (orange sheet)   The math game sheets are downloadable from Friday's hwk.

Daily Reading Gym Clothes Monday and Tuesday Dress for the weather.  Temperatures are dropping.  Book Orders due Tuesday.

Health - finish "My Health, My Community's Health" Math Quiz - signed and return Book Orders - due Tuesday   Check out new Math websites on the right of this page.    Photography - students who are interested in contributing photographs to Night of the Arts can bring their cameras to school tomorrow and will go outside with VP Mrs. Stymiest to take pictures.

Math - textbook, p.11-12, 1,3,4 (review) Use charts on p.9-11 to help you with the answers   Literacy - find 5 new OR interesting words in the book that you are reading and write them in the Spelling section of your agenda   NO SCHOOL - Oct. 8-9, Thursday and Friday   This week is Fire Prevention Week.  The students will have a presentation this coming Wednesday.

With luck, the elementary team of Nelson Rural will embark on our annual Terry Fox Run this coming Friday at 1 pm.  I hesitate to post the weather, or even a link to it, with fears that I may jinx it.

The Terry Fox Run is rescheduled for Monday, September 28.  Students are asked to dress with comfortable shoes and appropriate clothes for the weather.  For weather, go to Environment Canada, http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.

Open House @ Nelson School 6 p.m. Terry Fox Run  dress for the weather and walk, comfortable shoes, layers of clothes $2 donation (voluntary only) Reading - record title of book and pages read in agenda Battleship - a game sheet was put into student hwk notebooks with the hope that they can play it at home with a family member tonight or on the weekend (fun!)   Please sign and return "Permission to Publish Photograph"   See you at Open House!
