Nelson Rural had a great visit from the JMH Tommies! They came to read to our students and gave out a published Tommie book to each homeroom classroom. They also had gifts for the students and gave them each a colouring book! We would like to thank JMH Tommies for coming and sharing kindness with our students. They came to greet our young Tommies and the students were very excited to see the Mascot as well!
Thank you again for spreading Kindness to our students especially before the holidays! See the full image gallery for more photos!
Minister Bill Fraser visited Nelson Rural School on Monday, November 27th as they kicked off their Ring A Bell/Dots for Kids Campaign to raise awareness for youth mental health and wellness. The whole school participated in wellness activites for an extended homeroom period on Monday. Activities included meditation, yoga, book talks, Reader's Theatre, video response, group conversation, and an interview with the Minister. On Friday we will be wearing Dots as we Ring A Bell and connect as a local community for 1 minute to encourage young people to talk about their own mental wellness.
