The students worked together in groups to make leprechaun traps! No luck this year, as all traps were empty on March 17th, but a few tricks were played and we were left with some treats!

Grade 2 News - March 13 - March 17

Hi Everyone!

Welcome Back!!
I hope you had a fun and relaxing March Break!
Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.
It would be a good idea to have an extra pair of mittens and socks in your backpack.

Phys. Ed

Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

Our library day is on Tuesday.
Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Reading

The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
This week we will be working on sight words and reading.
Work on the sight word list you are on. Remember to have the Homework Helper sign the list when you know all the words.
It is very important that the students read each night. Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Fundraising Campaign – NUMER-ACTION

Just a reminder that all fundraising pledge money was due back on Thursday March 2^nd.
If you still have money out, please do your best to get it in this week.

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is on Friday March 17^th.
Students are asked to wear green on that day.

Water Bottles

Just a reminder to bring in a water bottle that you can refill and use throughout the day.

Fundraising Campaign – NUMER-ACTION

We had our activity day for our Numer-Action Fundraiser on Tuesday February 21^st.
The students were involved in physical activity and math related activities throughout the day. They also completed their math fact test.
Students were asked to collect pledges for the amount of time they spent on activities.
All money raised goes to the Student Council in support of student activities.
Their Numer-Action Math Fact Test, Participation Form and Pledge Sheet have been sent home with the students.
Now it’s time to collect all pledge money owed.
All pledge money is due back on Thursday March 2^nd.

Spirit Week

Our 3^rd School Spirit Week will take place next week, February 27^th- March 3^rd.
Below is a list of the theme days.
Monday – Hoodie and or Toque Day
Tuesday – Neon/Rainbow/Tie-Dye Day
Wednesday – School Colours or School Clothing Day
Thursday – Crazy Hair and Snazzy Sock Day
Friday – PJ or Jersey Day
