Les devoirs 6 novembre- 9 novembre

Les devoirs: Homework for this week:

Students are to read their sound poem Gaston Cochon each night and practice the sound "on\om" (There is a video uploaded on the teacher page)
Students are to practice pronouncing the words sent home with the poem as well.
Students are learning about shapes. I attached 3 different songs on the web links that they can listen to at home to practice.
There is no show and tell as there is no school on Friday.
Practice the Alphabet once a night (Video clip on teacher page)
Students are to read one of their french books in their zip lock bags once a night.
Please send back all levelled books each Monday so I can send new books home in their ziplock baggie. (French books stay in the zip lock bag as well)
Remembrance Day ceremony is on Thursday this week and will begin at 10 am.
No school on Friday (PD day for teachers)

Remembrance Day Poster Contest

If any student in my class would like to participate in the Legion's poster contest, please send in a note, and I will send home the application form with the instructions and score sheet that they will be using. Any student in grade 1 can design a poster in either colour or black and white. Each entry can be no larger than 56 cm X 71 cm.

Brilliant Labs Visit!

Our grade 1 french immersion class had a great visit with Jacob and Kayoe from Brilliant Labs who came to deliver a class set of MICROBITS!

We will be using the microbits in our Math and Literacy centers for number recognition and word work! Students are very excited to begin using them!...

MATH Fun night!

Our Math Fun Night was a great success! Thank you to all the parents and students who came out to join in the fun! Students were able to use Osmos, STEM bins, the SMART board and board games! Also a big thank you to all our MATH leads who came out to help and lead the sessions!

We had a lot of fun on Halloween day incorporating STEM into our day with the October catapult challenge! Students also had a scavenger hunt in the morning, incorporating math to start us off!
