Hi there everyone! I hope you enjoyed your weekend, snow and all. SNOW in May! Now that was a surprise! Hopefully the sun will continue to shine this week and we can enjoy some beautiful Spring weather. I hope all Mom's had an enjoyable day and got to share some well deseved family time. I know it has been hard for many of our little ones not to see their Nanny's during this time, so this may have been an extra special celebration.
This week we have some fun activities for you. We meet Umber Umbrella bird, he lives in the rainforest and has unique black feathers curled on its head that look like an umbrella.Continue to read and/or be read to each day. Review your sight words throughout the week and use these words to help with your writing.In math we are learning about capacity and we explore our sense of hearing a little closer in, You & Your World. For art we want you design your own umbrella. Be creative!!! Of course we hope everyone gets outside to play and will check out Mrs. Dickson's teacher page for some physical activities.
You are all doing a wonderful job with your learning and I love when you share your ideas and pictures with me. Remember each of us learn at our own pace, so try some of our ideas and make them your own.The goal is to have fun as you learn and explore at home. Many of you are really enjoying Raz Kids reading and Dreambox math, which is wonderful to see. Keep up the great work! Layne measured her driveway in hops. It is 33 hops long. Wow, thats a lot of hops! Great counting and hopping, Layne!

Layne read the story "Why Robins Hop" and then she and her sister Leah, measured how long their hops were. Layne counted how many hops long their driveway is. Check out her video.A fun way to do math!!

Layne shared some pictures of her birthday fun. She ate her favourite meal from MacDonalds and yummy icecream cake. She got lots of birthday calls,messages and presents, She had a very special 6th birthday!Awesome...
