We will have our first skating outing at the Civic Center on Nov 7th. Our ice time is from 10:25-11:05.  If there is anyone who does not have skates please let me know as the school has many extra pairs of skates that we can lend to the students. If you have skates and no helmet we have some but not many. We will gladly make sure that your child goes skating but will need a bit of notice to make sure they have the equipment.  Also help from parents is greatly appreciated in tying skates and helping out on the ice. Hope to see you all on the 7th.

Here are a couple of girls from our class showing off their fancy foot work that they learned in dance class.

We have gym this week on Mon. Tues and Wed.             Also on Monday this week we will Skype with our Texas friends about all the wonderful activites that we do at Nelson like planting Tulips, learning how to write over one whole page and that we will be participating in some fun Halloween activities this week as well.         Fall is sure here now, especially in the mornings. Make sure we are dressing warm with our hats and mits as we usually have some frost on the equipment as we are next to the river and our temperatures are a little cooler than at home.       Music is on Mon and Fridays.  Enjoy your week everyone!!!
Halloween will be on Wed and at school we will be dressing up in orange and black only. Please do not send your child to school dressed in a costume. We also will be having some fun games and activites as well. If you plan on sending in a treat please remember that our school is NUT free and all treats will have to be carefully chosen.

We learned that is has to be planted in a certain area in order for it to grow properly. We all planted one tulip seven inches in...

Bryce, Ethan, Justin, Isabella and Taylor all worked together to bring you this delightful poem. It is now yours to enjoy.

These are just a few of the ways the students in our room spent their Thanksgiving weekend with their families.

This will be the first time we talk with our new pen pals from Dallas, Texas.  All year long we will be Skyping and participating in other activities with them. It sure sounds like fun!

Ms.Sullivan's class and our class and the grade three class will all go outside today to find a proper spot to plant our tulips this year. I hope we can find one that has all the right conditions. Stay tuned and we will let you know if we did.
