Weather Woes Postpone Terry Fox Run To Friday

With luck, the elementary team of Nelson Rural will embark on our annual Terry Fox Run this coming Friday at 1 pm.  I hesitate to post the weather, or even a link to it, with fears that I may jinx it.

Terry Fox Run Monday

The Terry Fox Run is rescheduled for Monday, September 28.  Students are asked to dress with comfortable shoes and appropriate clothes for the weather.  For weather, go to Environment Canada, http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.

How Grade 3 Has Been Spending Their Days

In Language Arts, we are launching the Daily Five Program and we are currently learning how best to read to ourselves.  The kids have decided that good readers use whisper voices or read in their heads, stay in one place, keep their eyes on their books and continue reading for a sustained period of time.  As the days progress, we will be working on our stamina and reading for a sustained period of time.  We will work towards good reading for longer and longer periods of time to help our kids become better readers.
