Welcome To Grade 2!

Hi Everyone!

  • It is hard to believe, but we are into the month of October!
  • Our temperatures are changing, and the mornings are chilly with frost.
  • You may want to pack a hat and some mittens or gloves, so you have them if you need them.

Phys. Ed

  • Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

  • Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you  can sign out another book.

Homework/Reading

  • The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
  • This week we are continuing with our sight word sheets. Remember to have the Homework Helper sign both sides of the sheet when you know all the words.
  • The word work activity focuses on vowels. Look at the picture. Say the word and fill in the vowel sound you hear. Pick 1 word and write a sentence for it. Make sure your sentence begins and ends properly and has good details.
  • In Math we are counting by 1s and 2s and comparing and ordering numbers.
  • Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Cafeteria

  • Thanksgiving Special Meal – Thursday October 6th.
  • These meals had to be pre-ordered.
  • If you did not order the meal, you will have to bring your lunch.

Water Bottles

  • Just a reminder to bring in a water bottle that you can refill and use throughout the day.

No School

  • There is no school on Monday October 10th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Picture Retakes/Sibling Pictures

  • Picture retakes will be done on Wednesday October 12th.
  • This will also be for students who were absent on the first Picture Day in September.
  • If you would like to have sibling pictures done, please sign and return the blue form that was sent home.

Have a fantastic week Grade 2!

We had a great day at Fletcher's Farm! We made it though the maze, fed the animals, got to ride the pedal carts, had fun at the playground and even had a wagon ride!

We participated in the National Terry Fox School Walk. Terry was an amazing Canadian who made a huge difference for so many people. We walked today for him and family members and friends.
