All parents are asked to attend our Literacy night this Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30pm. We will be
demonstating all the new programs being used on a daily basis with your children. So please come out so
you too can give support at home to your own children and learn more about literacy at Nelson Rural.

These wonderful pieces of artwork were designed and created by grade two students at Nelson Rural School. They took some time to pick out the right piece of fruit or vegetable and turned it into a wonderful materpiece. BRAVO!

Torch RelayAll of the students and staff of Nelson Rural are very lucky that Mr.Fitzpatrick wanted each and everyone of us to take part in this very historic event. We all will be bused to JMH's track and field to watch the Olympic torch enter our city and we all will be able to take part and witness a BIG part of history as well. We will be leaving at 10:00am and will return around lunch time. There will be no cafeteria available on Friday so everyone is asked to bring a bagged lunch. Also the celebration is outdoors so the students are asked to dress for the weather.

These wonderful art creations were made with pictures of fruit or vegetables and the imaginations of the students in my room. I am very proud of each and every one of them for doing their best work. Way to go gang!

Here are a just a few examples of what the students can make for their projects. Also we will be having a guest visitor all the way from Texas. Mrs. Sands will be here on Mon, Tues and Weds. to see what our grade two students are up to in Canada.

Our Play With Our Food Art Show will be held on November 17th in the morning. All students, staff and partents are welcome to come by and have a look! I am sure you will all be amazed by the grade two's creations.
