It is important for all students to visit each of your teacher's pages to see lessons/activities for individual subjects.

Hello everyone! This week we are going to try some new sites. You will all be asked to Activate an account on the site, Netmath. Simply follow the instructions given in your individual class letter. Each grade has its own activation code written in bold. Also, as noted in your individual class letters, please activate your account only once. Future visits after activation only require your full name and password. (see class letter for details)
Grade 5 will be the first to use the site beyond the getting to know the site activity. Grades 6-8, simply check out the getting to know the site activity.
For Grade 6-8, lessons will be completed on the University of Waterloo site. Please see your class letters for details on each class lesson.
Take your time, space out the work and have a great week!

This week we are going to try something new :)
1. To start, I would like you to activate a new account on Netmath. We will not be using the site a lot this week, but I would like everyone to have their account activated so when we need it, you simply have to login.
To Acivate:
Follow the link to www.netmath.ca/activate
From here, you will first need to click on Activate. You will be asked for your student activation code, for Grade 8 it is FEA2-746E
You will then be asked to fill in your first name
last name
password
confirm password (this just means to put your password again)
*My suggestion for a password is to use the same password as for your school Office 365, so you don't have to remember so many passwords OR if you create a different password, write it down in a safe place you won't lose.
Your account is ACTIVATED! You can then go in and activities will be waiting for you.
The only activity this week is getting to know the site. This will teach you about the tools available, and how to use the site.
*Please remember, when you make your next visit to the site do NOT activate again. Simply sign in using your firstname, last name
password
2. Our Lesson for this week is on finishing our work on Percents less than 1% and greater than 100%
The lessons are audio/visual lessons so you can hear someone explaining the terms and lessons, and watch as they walk you through the math.
Note: The Alternative Format section simply presents the lesson without the audio.
To start the lesson follow the link to https://courseware.cemc.uwaterloo.ca/27/75/assignments/751/0
Work through each section of videos and exercises. At times, during a lesson, you will be given a "Check your Understanding" question or little game. When you complete it, continue the video by pressing the forward button on the black bar at the bottom of the lesson screen. Do not press the blue NEXT button until you are ready to move to the next section of the lesson.
Please keep in mind, you are NOT required to do all of this in one day. Take your time, space it out, and try your best!

Hello again!
I am hoping everyone had a good week. I am pleased to see the effort you all are making to stay in touch and try some of the lessons/activities being offered. I will continue to post lessons for you to try on Dreambox. Remember to watch for the blue calendar with the blue star. Try to complete one lesson group, before you move on to the next. New lessons are added for those who have completed a lesson and are ready to move on. I will also continue to add activities/games for you to play. They will be directed towards what we have learned.
Keep in mind, the object here is for you to do what you can, and have a little fun along the way!

This week, for the Dreambox site, continue to look for lessons marked by the blue calendar with the blue star. I would encourage you to try to finish one lesson, before moving to the next. New lessons are added to accommodate those who have finished and are ready to move on. As always, do what you can and have fun!
