Hi Everyone!I hope you had a fun weekend! Can you believe that we already had some snow? The days are starting to get chilly, especially in the morning. Please make sure that you are dressed for the weather. Phys. Ed Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Library Our library day is on Friday. Please bring your book back so you can get another one. Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the blue folders. Our spelling words this week focus on the short /o/ vowel sound. When you are writing about the main idea, remember to add good details to your sentences and begin and end them in the right way. Please make sure you are reading your book each night and record it on the log sheet. The math focuses on counting in different ways using the 100chart and number line and odd and even numbers. Math We are continuing with Numbers to 100. Last week we found out about odd and even numbers. This week we will be using money to count. You can practice at home by counting change. Do you know what each coin is and the value? We will find out all about that! Food Bank Our school is collecting food for the Food Bank from now until Christmas. If you can bring in some items to help, that would be great! Class Project With Texas Our friends in Texas were certainly not expecting any snow on the weekend! We have been checking their temperatures and comparing them with ours. They are still having high temperatures that are in the 90's (F)!We have been busy writing our individual letters to our pen pals. We will be sending them out this week. As well we have been working on our shared writing about Thanksgiving In Canada and telling them how we celebrated our Thanksgiving this year. On Thursday we planted our tulip garden. We planted 49 Red Emperor tulip bulbs. Now we will observe them, along with the garden in Texas and others around the world! We are hoping to Skype with them this week and get our weekly reports going. Have a fabulous week!
