Hello Kinders!! I hope you were able to get outside on the weekend and enjoy the lovely weather.

Here's whats happening this week in Kindergrten!  

Homework for this week:1.Read your borrow-a-books- You have 3 levelled books this week.Read one book each night. Look at the beginning letter of each unknown word, sound out letters to help identify the word. Use the pictures to help solve the word. Look across the whole word and blend the letter sounds together.Look for little words in the word.If you still don't know the word,skip it and come back to it. Print your name on the reading log and return your books on Friday. 

2.Timeline Fun- In You and Your World, our new unit is "See How I Have Grown". We will be exploring how we have changed and grown from babies to 5\6 year olds.On Monday, June 7th, I will be sending home a timeline for you and your child to discuss and complete for Friday, June 11th. The timeline has a spot for 3 pictures;infant, toddler(2-3 yrs) and present age. Please discuss with your child what they were like at each of these stages.Together choose 3 pictures and write a brief sentence to describe the importance of the picture and their age. The children will present their timeline to the class and we will display them and then return them to you the following week. I am sure the children will have a lot of questions for you and will be excited to hear what they were like as babies. Thanks for you help and have fun!! 

Library- Tuesday, June 8th will be our last visit to the library. Please return all books to school at this time. Mrs. Gallan will be busy collecting all books and organizing the libary for the fall. We want to thank Mrs. Gallan for reading us fun and interesting stories every week and for helping us find our favourite books to take home.  

Phys.Ed.Class-We have gym classes on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday this week.

Student Appreciation Day - On Wednesday, June 9th, we will be celebrating Student Appreciation Day in our District. After such a challenging school year, we want to show our students how much we appreciate the wonderful job they did following COVID 19 protocols, wearing their masks, sanitizing and staying within their bubbles! Through it all the children smiled, had fun and never complained. They really were fantastic and I am so very proud of my little Kinders. We will be doing a lot of fun and different activities, (some that the children will choose) on Wednesday and throughout the week to show our appreciation. Great job, Raiders!!

Hat Day - On Wednesday, June 9th,the K-2 classes will be having Hat Day in celebration of Student Appreciation Day.

Cafeteria Lunch Special - On Friday, June 17th the cafeteria is having a nacho special. You must pre-rder by Friday June 11th.Please fill out the form and send the correct change. This will be the only meal served that day. 

Remember to bring your water bottle and 2 extra clean mask every day.
