Hi Everyone,  Hope you had a good weekend! Just a reminder that the days are getting colder. We do go outside, weather permitting. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather, hats, mitts and heavier jackets.        Remembrance Day Service  Our school Remembrance Day Service is on Friday November 8th at 10:00am. Please join us if you can.        Skating  Our first skating day of the year is on Thursday November 7th. The ice time is from 10:25-11:05. Students must have skates and helmets to go on the ice. We have extra skates at the school, so you can check with us for sizes. Parents are welcome to join us at this time. Hope to see you there.      K-2 Parent Literacy Night  The K-2 teachers will be hosting a Literacy Night for parents on Thursday November 7th from 6:30-7:30pm. Come and join us to find out what the K-2 literacy program is all about and to get some tips to help your child with reading at home.    Phys. Ed   Students have Phys.Ed with Mr. Fitzpatrick on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.        Library  Our library day is on Friday, Make sure you bring your book back, so you can get another one.      Math  We have been working on counting with money. Keep working on this at home. Now we will be working with ordinal numbers and estimation. Remember to continue counting in different ways.      Borrow-A-Book  It is very important that students continue to read each night and record their book on the log sheet. We have been working on different strategies to help figure out unknown words. Please remember to use these when you are reading.    Our Project With Texas  The students are very excited to be working with our partner class in Texas. This is the 8th year that our school has partnered with St. John's Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas. We had two live weekly reports so far. For the first one, Alex, Evan and Garret were our reporters and poetry reader. Last week, Ava, Ben and Noah did the job. Super work boys and girls. We have also sent our shared writing about Thanksgiving In Canada and our friends in Texas had their Play With Your Food Art Show. We will be doing our show later this month. Stay tuned for more details.     Have a wonderful week and please take time to remember.
