Grade 2 News November 28 - December 2

Posted: November 28, 2016

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend! It's time to dig out those hats and mittens. The days are getting colder, so please make sure that you are dressed for the weather and bring your hat and mittens each day.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Library day is on Wednesday. Make sure you bring your book back, so you can take out another one.

Skating - Our first skating day of the year is on Tuesday November 29th. Ice time is from 9:25 - 10:05 AM. Students will need skates and helmets to go on the ice. If you do not have any, please let me know, as the school does have some extra pairs. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework is recorded in the orange folders. Our spelling words this week focus on the /ar/ sound in words and a review of the short /u/ vowel sound. Word work is on spelling words and the /ar/ sound. We are continuing with our work on place value and counting in different ways with math. In writing we are working on the organization trait, so the writing activity is based on this. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.  Use your strategies to help with your reading.

Book Fair - The Home and School is sponsoring a Scholastic Book Fair this week in the school library. It is opened Mon - Wed from 9:00 - 3:00; Family Night is Wednesday November 30th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM; Thursday 9 - 12PM.

Have a fabulous week!
