Hi Everyone!

Welcome back! I hope you had a fun long weekend!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back, so you can sign out another one.

Homework/ Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the red folders. This is a review week for our spelling so we have 12 words that we had before. There is a reading comprehension story, so make sure you read carefully, find the answers in the story and underline them and circle the letter for your answer. In math we have started working on addding 2 digit numbers, using different strategies and drawing out our work using tens and ones. Make sure you show your work. Please make sure you read each night and record your book on the log sheet.

District Literacy/Writing Assessment - The Grade 2 students will be doing their writing assessment this week beginning on Wednesday. It is important that students are present each day and on time. The assessment will be done in the mornings.

Bass Fishing Days - We had great fun learning how to fish on Monday. A big thank you to Mr. Fitzpatrick, the Grade 8 classes and their teachers and all the other volunteers who came out to help. We didn't catch any fish, but we had fun learning how to cast and reel in the lines. The biggest catch for us was a piece of wood and a pencil! Hopefully we will have better luck next time. Also we would like to say thank you to Mrs. Maloney and the Home and School for doing the BBQ.

Caterpillars In The Classroom - Our caterpillars arrived on Wednesday May 15th. They were very tiny, but can really move. We had a chance to observe them, and have a closer look with the magnifying glasses. By Friday they had already got a lot bigger and some have already shed their skin!

Have a fantastic week!
