Hi Everyone, Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your long weekend and got outside to play. This is a busy week.   Phys. Ed Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.    Library Our library day is on Wednesday. Please bring your book so you can get another one.   Grade 2 Literacy Assessment The Grade 2 students will be writing their Literacy Assessment from May 21-May 28. The reading part will be done provincially and the written part will be done by the district. It is very important that students are present and on time during the assessment. We will be writing first thing in the morning during our Literacy Block.  Math We will be finishing up our unit on Adding and Subtracting 2-digit numbers this week. The students have been figuring out their own strategies to help with this concept. It is important that they keep working on their facts, ways to make 10 and doubles at home.  Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the yellow folders. The spelling words this week focus on the /ed/ endings. Please make sure you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet. You should be using the strategies we have been working on to help with your reading.  Class Project With Texas We were not able to meet last week as our friends had something else scheduled. We are going to meet twice this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Our friends finish school next week! We have big news about our garden! It bloomed on Friday. There were 5 beautiful Red Emperor tulips in bloom. We are hoping that they are all in bloom this week. We are finishing up our letters, posters and pictures for our friends and we are also working on a class book. They will be mailed out this week. Caterpillars Our caterpillars arrived on Wednesday May 13th. We were excited to see them! They were very tiny. They were a few days old when we got them and they already shed their skin once. This is a great way to observe the life cycle of a butterfly.  Have a fabulous week!
